Door Leaf Preparation and Dimensional Requirements
The ZKTeco HBL400 multi-biometric smart digital lock is engineered for installation on standard commercial, residential, and institutional door assemblies, including solid wooden and metal doors. Standard door preparation requires a door thickness ranging between 45 mm and 60 mm (customizable for specialized door profiles). Before cutting the mortise pocket, system integrators must verify that the door stile provides adequate structural depth to house the fully automatic motorized lockbody mechanism without compromising structural integrity.
Ensure the door leaf hangs plumb and true within the frame prior to installation. Any structural sagging, binding, or frame misalignment will introduce mechanical friction against the automatic latch and deadbolt drive, potentially increasing motor load and draining power unnecessarily.
Mortise Lockbody and Trim Assembly Installation
Installation proceeds by routing the internal mortise cavity according to standard template dimensions for automatic electronic mortise locks. Once the automatic lockbody is seated and secured with faceplate fasteners, route the internal multi-pin data harnesses through the door bore hole. Take care to avoid pinching wires against the mortise casing or structural door reinforcement.
Mount the exterior escutcheon—featuring the heavy-duty aluminium alloy housing, tempered glass faceplate, 3D structured light camera module, capacitive fingerprint sensor, and integrated doorbell—flush against the exterior door face. Secure the interior mounting plate and connect the wiring harness to the indoor unit containing the integrated LCD display screen. Fasten the exterior and interior assemblies using the provided through-bolts to ensure rigid structural sandwiching across the 45 mm to 60 mm door leaf.
Power Supply and Electrical Verification
The unit operates on a dedicated 4,200mAh rechargeable lithium battery (they are not included) inserted into the indoor escutcheon battery compartment. Before closing the battery housing, verify clean electrical terminal seating. The electronic control board maintains an ultra-low static standby current of
Network Commissioning and Sensor Calibration
Field commissioning requires pairing the HBL400 to an on-site IEEE 802.11b/g/n 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network using either the ZSmart or USmart Go mobile management application. Network registration allows real-time event log synchronization, doorbell calling notifications, remote temporary access generation, and remote unlocking commands.
- Admin Registration: Program up to 5 administrator profiles to control local hardware parameters and user management functions.
- Facial Recognition Calibration: Enroll user faces (up to 50 templates) using the 3D structured light scanner, ensuring the target user stands within the calibrated induction distance of 50 cm to 100 cm.
- Multi-Factor Enrollment: Register up to 100 capacitive fingerprint templates, 50 virtual/random numeric passcodes, and 50 IC S50 (13.56MHz) RFID cards.
- Environmental Operational Verification: Verify mechanical clearance and optical responsiveness within the operating temperature envelope of -25°C to 75°C and relative humidity of 20% RH to 90% RH.
