Control Panel Compatibility and System Integration

The GST DI-9204E Digital Manual Call Point (MCP) is engineered for direct integration into intelligent addressable fire alarm infrastructure. Designed specifically for Type A indoor initiating applications in commercial facilities, public corridors, escape routes, stairwells, and industrial premises, the unit provides manual fire signaling directly over the digital signaling line circuit (SLC).

Fire Alarm Control Panel Interoperability

The DI-9204E interfaces seamlessly with GST intelligent addressable fire alarm control panels, providing complete protocol alignment and full telemetry reporting. Primary supported panel architectures include:

  • GST200N Series: Intelligent addressable fire alarm control panels supporting digital device reporting and automated zone mapping.
  • GST-IFP4E Series: High-capacity intelligent networkable fire alarm control panels supporting large-scale loop configurations.
  • GST DI-9000E Series: Fully compatible across systems utilizing GST digital addressable communication loop protocols.

Upon activation of the non-break-glass operating action plate, the device immediately transmits its unique address identity to the control panel, allowing the monitoring system to display the precise location of the alarm and trip the building notification appliances.

Loop Signaling and Electrical Requirements

The DI-9204E operates over a two-wire addressable loop circuit. Signaling and internal circuitry are powered directly from the loop, eliminating the need for local auxiliary power supplies:

  • Nominal Loop Operating Voltage: 24 VDC
  • Operating Voltage Range: 16 VDC to 28 VDC (voltage at the terminal must not drop below 16 VDC for reliable polling and activation reporting)
  • Standby Monitoring Current: ≤0.6 mA
  • Alarm Current Draw: ≤1.8 mA
  • Terminal Configuration: Non-polarized two-wire terminals designated as Z1 and Z2, simplifying field termination and preventing reverse-polarity wiring faults
  • Conductor Sizing: Recommended minimum 1.0 mm² fire-resistant two-core cable (or minimum 0.5 mm² subject to prevailing local electrical and fire safety codes)

Field Addressing and Commissioning Tools

The unit features electronic addressing, supporting an address setting range from 1 to 242. To maintain physical integrity and avoid manual DIP switch failure, addresses are written electronically directly into the internal non-volatile memory:

  • GST P-9910B Handheld Programmer: Required for reading, setting, and re-addressing the DI-9204E in the field (ordered separately). Call points must be assigned a unique valid address prior to loop commissioning to prevent unprogrammed or duplicate address loop errors.
  • Visual Polling Indication: A built-in red status LED flashes every 3 seconds during normal polling from the compatible GST panel and switches to steady illumination upon alarm latching.

Mounting Interfaces and Protective Accessories

The DI-9204E incorporates a two-piece modular plug-in structure, allowing base wiring termination prior to clipping the active operating body into place. Mechanical and environmental compatibility options include:
