The GST I-9301 Addressable Single Input/Output Module is engineered for seamless integration within Gulf Security Technology (GST) intelligent fire alarm networks. Featuring an integrated microprocessor, the unit manages digital communication protocol timing, continuously monitors output loop integrity, and signals status feedback directly to the network host.
Intelligent Control Panel Compatibility
The I-9301 is designed for direct integration onto the addressable detection loops of GST intelligent fire alarm control panels (FACPs). Compatible control panel models include:
- GST 200 Intelligent Fire Alarm Control Panel
- GST 200-2 Single/Dual Loop Addressable Fire Alarm Panel
- GST 5000 Intelligent Modular Fire Alarm Control Panel
- GST 9000 Large-Scale Network Intelligent Fire Alarm Panel
- GST-IFP8 Intelligent Fire Alarm Control Panel
The module occupies a single address on the panel loop, with electronic addressing configurable across the 1 to 242 address spectrum via dedicated loop commissioning tools.
Field Programming and Configuration Hardware
Loop address assignment and functional operational mode selection are programmed across the primary loop terminals prior to or following installation. The I-9301 is fully compatible with:
- GST P-9910 Handheld Programmer
- GST P-9910B Handheld Intelligent Programmer
Connecting the handheld programmer across terminals Z1 and Z2 allows commissioning engineers to configure operating parameters and mode presets without requiring physical DIP switches or rotary dials.
Signaling Line and Auxiliary Power Interface
The module interfaces directly with site cabling through designated terminal blocks mounted to its plug-in base:
- Detection Loop (Z1, Z2): Non-polarized connection to the FACP addressable loop circuit, operating within an operational voltage range of 16VDC to 28VDC (24VDC nominal). The module draws 1mA during supervisory standby and 5mA in alarm/action state. Wiring requires a minimum of 1.0 mm² (18 AWG) fire-rated cable.
- External DC Power (D1, D2): Non-polarized terminals accepting a regulated 24VDC auxiliary line (operating tolerance 16VDC to 28VDC). Required when operating in active output configurations. Wiring requires a minimum of 1.5 mm² fire-resistant cable.
Auxiliary Plant and Actuator Equipment Compatibility
The I-9301 interfaces with external equipment across two distinct software-selectable operational configurations:
- Two-Wire Mode (Volt-Free Dry Contacts): Utilizes passive relay terminals NC (Normally Closed), COM (Common), and NO (Normally Open). Designed for interfacing with building management systems, elevator/lift ground return triggers, HVAC damper actuators, smoke exhausters, and fire door electromagnetic holders. Relay contacts are rated for resistive loads up to 5A at 24VDC or 3A at 110VAC.
- Four-Wire Mode (Powered Active Output): Utilizes polarity-sensitive terminals S+ and S- delivering a supervised 24VDC active output up to 1A. In this mode, the module connects directly to conventional notification appliances, such as the GST C-9403 conventional sounder strobe. Circuit fault monitoring requires a parallel 4.7kΩ end-of-line (EOL) resistor across the monitored output load.
Physical Mounting Infrastructure
Constructed with a two-part plug-in base design, the I-9301 enclosure mounts directly to standard electrical back boxes with 6.5 cm mounting hole spacing. For conduit-based wall installations, it is dimensionally compatible with the GST B-9310 surface mount back box.
