Industrial and Commercial Applications for Prolite PEL 120 EM

Egress Wayfinding in Commercial Hospitality and Hotel Corridors

The Prolite PEL 120 EM maintained emergency exit luminaire is engineered to deliver continuous path-of-travel illumination across expansive indoor hospitality environments. Designed to operate on a standard ~230 V AC, 50 Hz mains electrical supply, the fixture uses a single 18W or 20W T-12 fluorescent tube lamp seated in a G13 base rotor holder. In busy hotel corridors and public transit passages, maintaining visible exit routing is critical for occupant safety during standard operating hours as well as during sudden power failures.

Because the unit operates in maintained mode, the same 18/20W fluorescent lamp remains illuminated under normal mains power and instantly switches over to its self-contained rechargeable Sealed Lead Acid (SLA) battery (they are not included) power source during an outage. Its 2 mm thick milky acrylic diffuser cum message panel, layered with CAD-designed precision-cut vinyl graphics, provides steady, glare-free directional visibility along primary guest walkways.

Emergency Signage for Multi-Level Stairwells and Escape Routes

Staircases within commercial complexes, corporate towers, and residential facilities present elevated evacuation hazards during sudden utility blackouts. The PEL 120 EM is built with a rugged 22 S.W.G. Cold Rolled Close Annealed (C.R.C.A.) sheet steel enclosure and internal white powder-coated 22 S.W.G. C.R.C.A. reflector, ensuring balanced light distribution across vertical egress paths.

The internal SLA battery (they are not included) system provides an emergency backup duration of 180 minutes (3 hours) + 10%, giving building occupants ample time to vacate multi-story infrastructure safely. With dual-hole mounting provisions for flat installation on either walls or ceilings, the unit adapts directly over landing access doors and intermediate stair turns without complex brackets.

Life Safety Illumination in Underground Parking Structures

Subterranean facilities like underground parking garages lack natural daylight penetration, making dependable maintained exit lighting essential. The IP-20 rated Prolite PEL 120 EM provides structural durability in covered parking zones through its treated white epoxy polyester powder-coated exterior finish. Connecting through an integrated 5 A, 250 V milky white polycarbonate terminal block with electrical-grade brass contacts, it withstands standard commercial electrical distribution demands.

Critical Egress Compliance in Technical Battery Rooms

Dedicated electrical rooms and industrial battery (they are not included) rooms require continuous regulatory compliance to ensure personnel can locate escape pathways during localized system faults. Conforming to Indian Standard IS : 9583 – 1981 for emergency lighting units, the Prolite PEL 120 EM satisfies stringent procurement codes for facility engineering teams.

Maintenance engineers can visually verify operational readiness via the prominent front-facing red LED charging indicator, which remains illuminated while the internal constant voltage charger completes its 10 to 12 hour replenishment cycle. The combination of commercial-grade 22 S.W.G. steel housing, polycarbonate/ABS lamp rotor holders, and broad lamp compatibility (including Philips, Osram, and Surya 18W/20W tubes) ensures sustained service life across heavy-duty utility areas.
