Mounting and Environmental Positioning
The BioMax N-F22 terminal features a slim vertical form factor measuring 185 mm (H) x 72 mm (W) x 25 mm (D) with a net weight of 0.6 kg, engineered specifically for indoor wall mounting. Secure mounting should be completed using a flat, vertical indoor surface near the controlled entryway. For optimal operation of the visible light dual-camera system and live body sensing (which operates at distances up to 1 meter), the terminal should be installed at standard eye level, avoiding direct backlight, glare, or high-intensity ambient illumination.
The terminal operates reliably within an ambient temperature range of 0°C to 45°C. When preparing the wall cutout or conduit, ensure adequate clearance behind the backplate to accommodate network, power, relay, and peripheral cabling without pinching or strain.
Power Supply Requirements
The BioMax N-F22 requires a dedicated, regulated external DC 12V / 2A power supply. To maintain stable biometric processing, optical sensor scanning, and relay switching, ensure the power leads are routed through properly rated low-voltage cables. Running power lines separately from high-voltage AC circuits reduces electromagnetic interference that could disrupt data transmission or live-sensing dual-camera performance.
Network and Data Communication Setup
The N-F22 supports flexible network topologies to communicate in real time with Biomax Desktop, Web, and Cloud attendance management platforms, as well as the accompanying Mobile App via Push Data protocol:
- TCP/IP Ethernet: Terminate a standard CAT5e or CAT6 Ethernet cable with an RJ45 connector directly to the local LAN infrastructure for low-latency transaction logging and database synchronization.
- Integrated Wi-Fi: Connect to 2.4 GHz wireless networks where physical network cable drops are impractical.
- USB Host Interface: Use the onboard USB port for offline manual transaction retrieval and configuration uploads using standard USB flash storage.
Access Control Relay and Peripheral Wiring
The unit features an integrated access control interface designed to drive standard door hardware and monitor egress points:
- Lock Relay Output: Built-in dry contact relay connects directly to 12V DC fail-safe hardware (such as electromagnetic locks) or fail-secure hardware (such as electronic drop bolts and door strikes).
- Auxiliary Input & Exit Switches: Terminals support push-to-exit buttons, no-touch infrared exit sensors, and external doorbell units.
- Wiegand In & Out Interfaces: Standard Wiegand ports enable two-way communication. Connect slave readers—such as the BioMax N-FR12 slave reader or external third-party Wiegand card readers (supporting 125 kHz EM or 13.56 MHz Mifare standards)—to establish secure master-slave entry/exit tracking and hardware-level anti-passback control.
