Mobile Dolly Deployment and Site Positioning
The Ador INDUS Vehicle Activated Speed Sign (VASS) in its mobile dolly-mounted format is engineered for rapid positioning across temporary work zones, highway diversions, industrial campuses, and suburban traffic checkpoints. When positioning the mobile trailer dolly, site crews should align the sign carriage on a level roadside surface or verge facing oncoming traffic. The unit relies on a dual-direction 24GHz ISM-band / K-band Doppler radar with a 250-meter detection range; positioning must ensure an uninhibited line of sight toward approaching vehicles within the target detection corridor.
Mechanical Specifications and Mounting Adaptability
While optimized for mobile trailer dolly transit and quick repositioning, the Ador INDUS casing also supports fixed installation on standard roadside poles and overhead gantries. The chassis measures 29 inches in height, 29 inches in width, and 10 inches in depth (29"H x 29"W x 10"D), exhibiting a dry weight of 26 kg without batteries (they are not included). Constructed from non-corrosive metals and sealed with an anti-UV curved polycarbonate front face, the housing is finished in Graphite Gray RAL 7024 and engineered to an IP65 ingress protection standard against dust, rain, and water jets.
Electrical Infrastructure and Power Configuration
The system features an ultra-low power consumption architecture with an average power draw below 150W. Field teams can configure power via three primary supply methods: standard 230V AC mains, an auxiliary solar panel array, or an internal battery (they are not included) power system. An internal miniature circuit breaker (MCB) is integrated within the casing to isolate electrical circuits and protect sensitive internal electronics during line connection and ongoing operation.
- Internal Storage: Built-in internal battery (they are not included) enclosure with the capacity to hold up to 2 batteries (they are not included).
- Off-Grid Solar Integration: Connect the supplied solar panel module directly to the sign's regulated power terminals to maintain autonomous operation in remote work zones alongside the installed batteries (they are not included).
- AC Mains Hookup: Direct connection to standard 230V AC supplies where permanent or utility power drops are available.
Radar Calibration and Optical Alignment
Proper field calibration ensures radar detection accuracy of 99% (±2 km/h) across speeds from 5 km/h to 199 km/h. Align the physical display directly with the centerline of oncoming traffic to match the optical properties of the visual components. The display incorporates 16-inch 7-segment speed digits, a 1.26-foot Highway-Gothic font 'YOUR SPEED' legend, and tri-color LEDs (Amber, Green, Red) arranged in a 3-row thick matrix with a 30-degree cone angle. The integrated auto-dimming sensor regulates intensity based on ambient daylight to maintain visual legibility exceeding 1,000 feet (300+ meters).
Data Connectivity and External Alert Integration
Initial setup, local diagnostics, and logging configurations are performed using the onboard Mini B-type USB port or a direct LAN connection. For wide-area traffic analytics, the INDUS VASS supports communication with the INDUS Web App and INDUS Cloud App via LAN or an optional GSM module for speed trend analytics and vehicle count collection. If active acoustic warnings are mandated by site protocol, an external audible siren can be integrated directly with the sign's violation trigger relay output.
