Hardware, Credential, and Peripheral System Compatibility

The ZKTeco SA32-E (SA32 EM) standalone access control terminal is engineered for seamless electrical and logical integration into standard 12V DC electronic door security infrastructures. Designed to function as an autonomous entry point controller without requiring host PC communication or network cabling, the terminal interfaces directly with universal locking mechanisms, physical release switches, external signaling accessories, and standard proximity credentials.

RFID Credential and Frequency Compatibility

The integrated contactless reader module in the SA32-E operates on the standard 125 kHz low-frequency (LF) radio frequency identification band. It supports credential recognition at reading distances ranging between 1 cm and 15 cm. The system supports direct credential compatibility across the following credential formats:

  • Standard 125 kHz EM Proximity ID Cards: Full compatibility with passive 125 kHz EM-format ISO proximity cards and clamshell badges.
  • 125 kHz EM Keyfobs and Token Tags: Compatible with passive 125 kHz EM RFID key tags and fobs for compact credential distribution.
  • Dual-Factor Card + PIN Credentials: Supports matching individual 125 kHz EM credentials with associated keypad PIN numbers within its 1,000-user memory capacity.

Electric Door Locking Hardware Interfacing

For door locking automation, the SA32-E features integrated lock control outputs comprising 1 onboard Relay output and 1 PUSH (active low) output. This interface architecture allows direct compatibility with various standard low-voltage locking devices:

  • Electromagnetic Locks (EM Locks): Compatible with standard 12V DC fail-safe magnetic locks wired through the onboard relay contacts.
  • Electric Drop Bolts: Supports direct switching for 12V DC fail-safe or fail-secure motorized drop bolts and solenoid deadbolts.
  • Electric Door Strikes: Fully compatible with 12V DC fail-secure and fail-safe rim or mortise electric strikes.
  • Low-Current Triggered Power Supplies: The dedicated PUSH (low) output allows direct interfacing to specialized access control power supply units that accept negative signal triggers for lock release sequencing.

The terminal base includes designated input and output terminal connections designed for essential door perimeter accessories:

Environmental and Operating Constraints

To maintain consistent read ranges (1 to 15 cm) and prevent lock relay dropouts, the operating supply voltage must remain within DC 12V ±10% (10.8V DC to 13.2V DC). The unit is rated for ambient operational temperatures between 0°C and 60°C with non-condensing relative humidity levels between 20% and 80% RH.
