Deployment Scenarios and Industrial Use Cases for ZKTeco FBL320

Multi-Lane Expansion in High-Traffic Corporate Lobbies

The ZKTeco FBL320 dual-lane flap barrier turnstile is purpose-built as an intermediate expansion unit designed to operate in conjunction with master FBL300 series turnstiles. In corporate headquarters, commercial towers, and multi-tenant office complexes, managing high-density pedestrian flow during peak arrival and departure hours is essential. With a throughput capacity of up to 35 people per minute per lane and a standard 570 mm lane width, the FBL320 allows facility managers to scale an entrance from a single passageway into an interconnected, multi-lane access control array without duplicating standalone casework.

The unit features SUS304 stainless steel construction with a smooth finish and no exposed screws, delivering a clean architectural aesthetic suited for professional reception areas. Integrated LED indicators provide visual guidance for direction of travel and authorization status, maintaining uninterrupted foot traffic.

Manufacturing Facilities, Logistics Hubs, and Industrial Plants

Industrial campuses require rugged access control hardware capable of withstanding heavy daily shift changes. The FBL320 is engineered with high-durability electrical components rated for a Mean Cycles Between Failures (MCBF) of 2 million cycles. Operating across a wide temperature range from -20°C to 70°C and humidity levels between 5% and 95% (non-condensing), the turnstile is suitable for factory floor entrances, warehouse security checkpoints, and sheltered outdoor access points.

  • Shift Management: Fast acrylic barrier retraction allows smooth, rapid throughput for high-volume worker transitions.
  • Authentication Flexibility: Supports plug-and-play integration with factory-specified RFID card readers or biometric fingerprint terminals.
  • Tailgating Prevention: Five pairs of built-in infrared sensors detect passage and unauthorized following, enforcing medium-security access policies.

Transit Hubs, Educational Campuses, and Public Institutions

In sheltered transport facilities, government buildings, university campuses, and research libraries, entry gates must balance security with continuous pedestrian throughput. The FBL320 provides a compact footprint with cabinet dimensions of 1400 mm (L) x 300 mm (W) x 980 mm (H) and an overall weight of 55 kg, allowing multi-lane arrays to be deployed in confined entry foyers. Onboard LCD interfaces located directly on the flap barrier control board simplify local parameter configuration and diagnostic monitoring for campus security teams.

Emergency Evacuation and Life Safety Compliance

Life safety and emergency protocols are built directly into the FBL320 architecture. The system features native Emergency Mode support, allowing fire alarm systems to trigger an automatic barrier retraction to clear the 570 mm walkway for rapid egress. In the event of a mains power interruption, the acrylic barriers automatically retract upward to establish an unobstructed escape path when an external backup battery (they are not included) is installed.
