Industrial and Commercial Use Cases for ZKTeco FBL200 Flap Barrier

The ZKTeco FBL200 Series Single Lane Flap Barrier Turnstile provides high-speed automated physical access control designed for moderate security pedestrian entry points. Featuring a rated throughput of up to 30 people per minute, an acrylic barrier opening time of 0.8 seconds, and an ultra-quiet acoustic profile of ≤30 dB, the FBL200 is engineered for continuous operation in both indoor and sheltered outdoor environments across various commercial and industrial facilities.

Corporate Headquarters and Multi-Tenant Commercial Lobbies

In high-density office buildings, managing peak morning and evening pedestrian traffic requires reliable, fast-actuating turnstiles that prevent tailgating without impeding authorized employee ingress. The FBL200 utilizes a 570 mm standard lane width and a compact footprint measuring 1200 mm (L) x 300 mm (W) x 980 mm (H), fitting neatly into reception turnstile arrays. The SUS304 stainless steel cabinet and lid feature a smooth finish with no exposed screws to complement modern corporate interiors.

With native support for RFID card readers, IC/ID access cards, and fingerprint biometric devices, security administrators can easily integrate existing corporate credential systems via relay opening signals or 12V level signal/pulse interfaces (>100ms pulse width). Integrated LED direction indicators clearly signal lane status and passage permission to maintain fluid foot traffic.

Industrial Complexes, Warehouses, and Sheltered Factory Access Points

Manufacturing plants, logistics centers, and processing facilities operate in diverse climatic ranges and demand heavy-duty mechanical reliability. The FBL200 is built with a 24V / 40W DC drive motor rated for a Mean Cycles Between Failures (MCBF) of 2 million cycles, supporting high-frequency shift changes. Operating across temperatures from -28°C to 60°C and 5% to 80% non-condensing humidity, it can be deployed at perimeter guardhouses, plant gates, or turnstile canopies where sheltered outdoor protection is present.

Educational Institutions and Public Sector Facilities

Colleges, training centers, and municipal buildings require disciplined entry authentication coupled with user safety. The FBL200 incorporates an onboard LCD on the control board for rapid parameter configuration and diagnostics. Security and safety features include:

  • Dual Anti-Pinch Protection: Combines infrared sensors and mechanical detection to stop motor reset immediately upon detecting an obstruction.
  • Anti-Shock Auto-Locking: Automatically locks the retractable acrylic baffles securely against force whenever an opening signal is absent.
  • Illegal Entry Alarms: Triggers immediate audible and visual alarm prompts if unauthorized entry or lane breaches occur.
  • Auto-Reset Timeout: Cancels access authorization automatically if a pedestrian authenticates via card or fingerprint but fails to cross the 570 mm lane within the pre-set timeout interval.

Emergency Evacuation and Life Safety Compliance

During facility evacuations or life safety events, physical barriers must never obstruct exiting personnel. The FBL200 integrates directly with central fire alarm systems to automatically trigger full barrier retraction upon receiving a dedicated fire-fighting signal. In the event of primary AC power failure (AC 100–120V / 200–240V, 50/60Hz), the barriers retract automatically when an optional backup battery (they are not included) is installed, establishing an uninhibited egress path.
