Electrical & Impedance Matching

The Ahuja ACM-96CH desktop paging microphone is engineered with a standard 600-ohm output impedance, making it directly compatible with low-impedance microphone inputs on industrial and commercial public address equipment. Its unidirectional dynamic cartridge delivers a rated sensitivity of 2.0 mV/Pa across a frequency response curve of 50 to 10,000 Hz. This frequency profile is tailored for speech intelligibility, interfacing seamlessly with public address amplifiers, pre-amplifiers, and mixer-amplifier input stages without signal overload or impedance mismatch.

Cable Interface & Connector Specifications

Physical audio integration is handled via the included 6-metre twin-core shielded low-noise cable. This long-reach cable terminates in a heavy-duty 6.3 mm (1/4-inch) phone plug, allowing direct plug-in connection to standard 6.3 mm unbalanced microphone input jacks found on PA mixer-amplifiers and audio distribution consoles. The twin-core shielded construction minimizes electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency noise across typical control room or announcement desk cable runs.

Chime Circuit & Power Source Integration

Unlike standard passive microphones, the ACM-96CH incorporates an active multi-tone electronic chime module. The internal chime circuitry is self-powered and requires 2 × 1.5V (UM-3) pencil cells (they are not included). Because the electronic chime is internally powered by these 2 × 1.5V (UM-3) pencil cells (they are not included), the microphone does not require external phantom power from the host amplifier or mixer. Installers can calibrate chime output to match microphone voice levels using the adjustable preset potentiometer located on the bottom side of the unit.

Application & Host Equipment Integration

The single-zone architecture, combined with a 300 mm (12-inch) flexible gooseneck and aluminium die-cast top housing, allows the unit to integrate into various commercial audio control desks. Integrated LED indicators on the switch cluster provide clear visual feedback during broadcast and chime activation, supporting reliable operation in commercial and institutional audio environments.
