Ahuja SRX-250®DXM Installation and System Setup Guide

Physical Placement and Mounting Options

The Ahuja SRX-250®DXM is a passive, two-way bass reflex speaker system measuring 405 mm (W) × 845 mm (H) × 330 mm (D) and weighing 26.0 kg. Built from an 18 mm board cabinet with a carpet-covered exterior and a perforated front grille, the enclosure can be deployed in two primary configurations:

  • Floor-Standing Column Array: Placed directly on stable, level flooring for direct stage monitoring, hall reinforcement, or ground-stacked sound reinforcement.
  • Elevated Stand Mounting: Mounted onto an industry-standard speaker stand utilizing the integrated stand mount adaptor socket built directly into the bottom base of the cabinet.

When positioning the enclosure, utilize the ergonomically positioned carrying handles to lift and orient the 26.0 kg unit safely into place.

Audio Input Wiring and Connector Termination

The SRX-250®DXM offers dual input connection provisions on its rear panel to interface with professional low-impedance PA power amplifiers and booster amplifiers:

  • 1/4” (6.35 mm) Phone Jack: Accepts standard 1/4” mono audio phone plugs from patch panels or amplifier output lines.
  • Terminal Strip: Features binding screw terminals designed for bare stripped cable ends, spade lugs, or fixed audio cabling runs.

Ensure correct polarity when connecting bare speaker leads to the terminal strip to prevent phase cancellation between multiple cabinets.

Amplifier Matching and Impedance Configurations

The speaker is rated for 200W RMS continuous power handling with a nominal impedance of 8 Ω. Matching the speaker system correctly to the amplifier output tap is essential to prevent distortion, thermal clipping, or transducer damage:

Do not drive the system continuously beyond its 200W RMS power handling limit. Exceeding rated continuous input levels will introduce signal distortion and can cause mechanical or thermal damage to the dual 12” dual cone voice coils (Ø1.5” / 38.1 mm) or the 3” × 6” piezo horn tweeter.

Acoustic Positioning and Port Clearance

The cabinet features a low-frequency acoustic tuning design with a built-in free-flow flared port, delivering a frequency response of 55 Hz to 20,000 Hz with a maximum rated sound pressure level (SPL) of 123 dB (100 dB SPL @ 1W/1m). For optimal low-end reinforcement in auditoriums, community halls, religious institutions, and DJ setups:

  • Maintain adequate rear and side clearance around the free-flow flared port to prevent turbulent airflow disruption.
  • Orient the high-frequency piezo horn toward the primary listening plane to achieve even high-frequency dispersion across audience areas.
