Amplifier Impedance and Power Matching
The Ahuja SRX-250®DXM is engineered as an 8 Ω nominal impedance passive loudspeaker system rated for 200 Watts RMS input power handling. It integrates directly with commercial low-impedance public address (PA) power amplifiers, integrated mixing amplifiers, and dedicated booster amplifiers engineered for 8 Ω or 4 Ω speaker loads. To ensure clean sound reinforcement and prevent thermal stress across the dual Ø1.5” (38.1 mm) voice coils, system amplifiers should deliver matched continuous power aligned with the 200W RMS system rating across the 55 Hz to 20,000 Hz operating spectrum.
When scaling multi-enclosure sound reinforcement systems, two Ahuja SRX-250®DXM units can be wired in a parallel configuration across a single amplifier channel. This parallel link halves the total nominal load to 4 Ω, matching standard low-impedance 4 Ω amplifier output taps commonly utilized in industrial auditoriums, event halls, and live performance setups. System designers must observe proper impedance loading guidelines to prevent overcurrent conditions or audio signal distortion on the driving amplifier stages.
Input Terminations and Signal Interfacing
The loudspeaker system provides flexible dual-format input connectivity to support varied industrial wiring and touring cable harnesses:
- 1/4” (6.35 mm) Phone Jack: Accepts standard mono 1/4” phone plugs for rapid setup, stage monitoring links, and mobile public address cabling.
- Heavy-Duty Terminal Strip: Features direct screw/clamp connection terminals designed to accept bare speaker wire leads or spade-terminated cabling, ideal for permanent commercial installations and fixed audio conduit runs.
Both connector options link directly to the internal crossover network, which divides audio frequencies between the two 12” (304.8 mm) dual cone low-frequency drivers and the 3” × 6” (76.2 × 152.4 mm) piezo horn tweeter.
Mechanical Infrastructure and Stand Mounting
For physical staging and permanent installation, the SRX-250®DXM features a robust 18 mm board enclosure measuring 405 mm (W) × 845 mm (H) × 330 mm (D) with a net weight of 26.0 kg. Physical deployment options include:
- Floor-Standing Column Array: Direct ground, stage, or riser placement supported by its rugged carpet-covered exterior and perforated front protective grille.
- Elevated Stand Deployment: Integrated heavy-duty stand mount adaptor socket located at the bottom base of the cabinet, compatible with standard speaker tripods and vertical mounting poles to achieve optimal 100 dB (1W/1m) sound pressure distribution above audience height.
- Transport & Handling: Built-in ergonomic carrying handles engineered into the cabinet structure facilitate safe manual positioning and transport across venue setups.
