The Hitune Bass SBS-20 is a centralized 20-zone two-way public address and talkback master console engineered specifically for educational and institutional applications. It establishes reliable two-way audio communication between administrative offices, such as the Principal or Headmaster desk, and up to 20 distinct classrooms or facility sectors.
Constructed with a heavy-duty metal enclosure, the SBS-20 master unit is built to withstand constant daily use across demanding institutional environments. The console supports versatile dual-power operation, running on standard 230V AC mains or a 12V DC auxiliary supply to maintain seamless broadcast continuity during mains power failures.
A high-sensitivity electret gooseneck microphone is attached directly to the master unit, offering clear voice reproduction with an audio frequency response of 50 Hz to 18,000 Hz and a sensitivity rating of 2.1 mV/Pa. An optional rear-panel input socket allows the integration of an external handheld or desktop microphone when required.
The console interface integrates individual zone selector switches alongside an 'All Call' master broadcast switch that enables immediate mass announcements across all connected rooms. Visual Talk LEDs, Call Return LEDs, and an audible Return Call Bell indicator alert administrative operators whenever an individual classroom initiates an incoming call.
To ensure clear two-way communication, the unit incorporates an internal monitor speaker accompanied by an independent rotary volume potentiometer. This setup allows the master operator to monitor incoming classroom speech and incoming audio transmissions clearly at an adjustable volume level without acoustic feedback.
Audio distribution employs standard 100V line-matching speaker architecture to connect distributed remote classroom speaker units over extended cable distances. SBS-20 Master Console Installation, Wiring Topology and Commissioning

Master Console Site Setup and Power Configuration

The Hitune Bass SBS-20 master station is engineered with a rigid metal enclosure designed for stationary desktop installation within a central administrative facility, such as a principal's or headmaster's office. Ensure the placement area provides adequate structural support, unobstructed access to the front-panel controls, and sufficient clearance for rear-panel cabling interfaces. Installation personnel must prepare dual-path electrical infrastructure to utilize the console's redundant power architecture. The unit supports primary operation from a standard 230V AC mains utility supply as well as auxiliary operation via a 12V DC power source. Terminate the electrical feeds through dedicated, properly rated power connectors to ensure uninterrupted school broadcasting and emergency paging functionality.

Audio Input and Microphone Configuration

The console comes equipped with a factory-attached electret gooseneck microphone delivering an input sensitivity rating of 2.1 mV/Pa. Position the flexible gooseneck to accommodate the seated operator's direct speech axis to capture balanced voice audio across the system's full 50 Hz to 18,000 Hz operating frequency response range. For installations requiring an auxiliary or remote speech station, identify the optional rear-panel external microphone socket. Connect compatible high-impedance or low-impedance external microphones directly into this dedicated port, ensuring audio cabling is shielded from adjacent AC power lines to prevent induced electromagnetic hum and interference.

100V Line Matching and External Power Amplifier Integration

The SBS-20 operates as a 20-zone central control and talkback distribution hub that requires integration with an external public address power amplifier. Line-matching speaker distribution methodology must be implemented across all output lines. System integrators must calculate the required power rating of the external power amplifier based strictly on the aggregate electrical load, determined by the total number of classroom speaker units and their collective line-matching transformer wattage taps. Route the master pre-amplified output signals from the console into the external power amplifier's line inputs, and route the high-voltage distributed speaker feed through the console's internal zone-switching relays using line-matching principles to preserve signal integrity across extended institutional cable runs.

20-Zone Field Wiring and Classroom Talkback Termination

Establish discrete two-wire or multi-conductor field cable runs connecting each of the 20 individual zone outputs to their respective classroom speaker stations. The console architecture enables selective two-way communication between the central administration and up to 20 individual remote rooms. Maintain correct line-matching polarity at each speaker station to ensure uniform acoustic phase across all classrooms. Terminate the call-return signaling conductors from each remote classroom station back to the designated zone switch terminals on the SBS-20 rear panel, ensuring low-resistance continuity for return signaling and incoming voice reception.

Commissioning Procedures and Operational Verification

Following cable termination, complete a systematic commissioning check across the entire 20-zone network:

Power Initialization: Energize the console via the 230V AC mains line or 12V DC input; verify console power indicators.
Zone Selector and Talk LED Verification: Depress each individual zone selector switch sequentially; confirm that the corresponding Talk LED illuminates on the console interface when voice transmission is initiated via the electret gooseneck microphone.
Return Signaling and Monitoring: Trigger a call-back transmission from each remote classroom station; verify that the Return Call Bell chimes distinctly and the associated Call Return LED lights up on the front panel.
Monitor Speaker Calibration: Adjust the independent rotary monitor speaker volume control to calibrate incoming classroom audio through the console's integrated monitor speaker without introducing feedback.
All-Call Broadcast Test: Engage the master 'All Call' switch to verify simultaneous, distortion-free public address distribution across all 20 connected zones across the rated 50–18,000 Hz spectrum.

Operational Applications and Deployment Scenarios for SBS-20 Talkback System

Centralized Campus Administration and Principal-to-Classroom Intercom

The Hitune Bass SBS-20 operates primarily as a central command station within school administrative offices, headmaster cabins, or campus control centers. Designed with 20 distinct communication zones, the master console enables administrators to establish two-way audio links with specific rooms without disturbing adjacent classes. In typical daily administrative operations, office personnel select a single zone to verify attendance, request student dispatches, or relay instructional instructions directly to an individual classroom speaker station.

Audio clarity is maintained through the console's integrated electret gooseneck microphone, which features an input sensitivity of 2.1 mV/Pa and operates within an audio frequency response band of 50 Hz to 18,000 Hz. When speaking to a selected station, visual confirmation is provided on the front control panel by the active Talk LED indicator, confirming clear transmission along the assigned channel line.

Campus-Wide Emergency Paging via All-Call Broadcast

For urgent operational announcements, morning assemblies, routine period changes, or emergency notifications, the SBS-20 console provides an instantaneous All Call master switch. Engaging this switch bypasses individual zone selections and broadcasts high-intelligibility audio across all 20 connected classroom speakers simultaneously.

Because institutional installations require continuous operational readiness even during power fluctuations, the master unit supports dual power connectivity. It operates on standard 230V AC mains during routine conditions and can seamlessly transition to a 12V DC auxiliary power source during grid outages, ensuring emergency announcements remain active across educational facilities.

Classroom-Initiated Intercom and Audio Monitoring

Unlike unidirectional public address consoles, the SBS-20 serves as a true two-way talkback hub. In institutional environments where remote classrooms require immediate contact with the central administration, teaching staff can initiate incoming inquiries to the master desk:

Audible and Visual Signalling: When a remote classroom initiates a call, the master console alerts desk personnel via an audible Return Call Bell accompanied by an illuminated Call Return LED corresponding to the calling station.
Direct Talkback Reception: Central operators can immediately open the channel to listen to the instructor's report or question using the console's integrated monitor speaker.
Audio Level Adjustment: Desk operators can fine-tune incoming audio intelligibility using the dedicated rotary monitor speaker volume control knob on the metal front panel.
Secondary Microphone Integration: For installations where desk space dictates alternate microphone placement, an optional rear-panel socket allows the attachment of an external microphone alongside the primary electret gooseneck unit.

Distributed 100V Line-Matching Institutional Architectures

In multi-floor or dispersed school campus buildings, signal attenuation over long cable distances is mitigated by the console's 100V line-matching speaker distribution architecture. System integrators pair the SBS-20 master station with external PA power amplifiers sized specifically to the total quantity and wattage ratings of the connected classroom speakers. This configuration makes the system well-suited for medium-scale institutions including primary schools, secondary academic complexes, technical training institutes, and multi-room coaching academies requiring robust 20-channel communication housed within a durable metal enclosure.
