What operating modes and alarm tone options are supported by the GST I-9403 sounder strobe?

Answer:
The GST I-9403 features 16 programmable alarm tones, optional dual-address Evacuate + Alert staged notification, selective muting of either strobe or sounder outputs, and switchable power-saving or normal operational modes.

The GST I-9403 incorporates distinct functional operating capabilities designed for versatile building evacuation schemes:

  • 16 Programmable Alarm Tones: Includes LPCB-recognized alarm patterns such as Tone 14 (2400 Hz – 2900 Hz @ 3 Hz) and Tone 16 (500 Hz – 1200 Hz, 3.75 s on / 0.25 s off). The factory default setting is Tone 14 in normal consumption mode.
  • Staged Dual-Address Evacuate + Alert Mode: The unit can be configured to take either 1 or 2 electronic addresses. When programmed with 2 addresses, the primary address initiates a pre-alarm tone (800 Hz, 1 s on / 1 s off at 76 dB), allowing facility managers to stage an investigation stage prior to general evacuation.
  • Independent Audio/Visual Control: The high-intensity LED cluster strobe or the audible sounder output can be independently switched off via commissioning parameters to suit sensitive commercial or healthcare areas.
  • Dual Power Architecture: The unit can be powered directly from the fire detection loop (maximum 20 sounder strobes per loop, restricted to power-saving mode) or powered by an external 24VDC supply for full high-output normal consumption operation.
