The GST I-9403 Intelligent Sounder Strobe (Product No. 10106295) is an addressable notification device engineered for native integration with Gulf Security Technology (GST) intelligent fire detection networks. Operating across a nominal voltage window of 20VDC to 28VDC (24VDC nominal) on both loop and external auxiliary supplies, the unit complies with EN54-3 standards and provides synchronized audible and visual evacuation signalling across multi-device commercial and industrial infrastructures.
Compatible Fire Alarm Control Panels
The I-9403 interfaces directly over the detection loop with GST intelligent fire alarm control panels. It is fully validated for two-way addressable polling, control event outputs, staged alerts, and diagnostic supervision on the following panel models:
- GST100: Single-loop intelligent fire panel architecture.
- GST200-2: Two-loop intelligent addressable fire control panel.
- GST200N: Intelligent addressable fire alarm panel series.
- GST-IFP8: Multi-loop industrial intelligent fire panel platform.
Commissioning and Programming Equipment Compatibility
Device parameters cannot be configured via physical DIP switches; all address and acoustic settings require the dedicated GST P-9910B Handheld Programmer (Product No. 10104894). When coupled with the P-9910B tool, system engineers can configure:
- Address Assignment: Electronic addressing spanning loop IDs from 1 to 242.
- Addressing Modes: Single-address operation or dual-address configuration (enabling Evacuate + Alert staged evacuation where the primary address outputs the 800Hz pre-alarm tone).
- Tone Profiles: 16 field-selectable alarm tones, including LPCB-certified Tone 14 (2400Hz–2900Hz at 3Hz) and Tone 16 (500Hz–1200Hz, 3.75s on / 0.25s off).
- Operational Output Modes: Power-saving mode, normal consumption mode, or selective muting of either strobe illumination or audible tone output for specialized application areas.
Power Infrastructure and Loop Loading Compatibility
System designers must select power delivery architecture according to current draw profiles and loop capacity:
- Direct Loop-Powered Mode: Permitted strictly in Power-saving mode (standby monitor current ≤2mA; start/alarm current ≤9mA). A strict engineering maximum of 20 sounder strobe units may be powered directly from a single detection loop. Normal consumption mode is prohibited on loop power.
- External 24VDC Auxiliary Powered Mode: Required when operating in Normal consumption mode (loop monitor ≤1mA, loop start ≤2mA; auxiliary power monitor ≤1mA, auxiliary power start ≤35mA) or when deploying more than 20 sounders per loop segment.
Wiring and Base Enclosure Compatibility
The I-9403 features a two-part mechanical structure with base-mounted termination, allowing pre-wiring prior to device head installation:
- Standard Shallow Base: Included standard base provides an assembled footprint of 110mm diameter by 95.9mm height with rear fixing hole spacing accommodating 55mm, 80mm, and 83mm pitch mountings.
- C-94DB Deep Base (Product No. 30203792): Optional junction base accessory engineered specifically for projects utilizing surface-mounted conduit entry and exterior cabling runs.
- Field Terminals: Non-polarized terminals simplify field termination: Loop input/output connects to Z1 (Terminal 2) and Z2 (Terminal 4); external 24VDC supply lines land on non-polarized terminals D1 (Terminal 9) and D2 (Terminal 7).
- Cabling Standard: Designed for use with 1.5mm² or greater fire-resistant screened or unscreened cable, subject to local installation regulations and voltage drop calculations.
