Target Deployment Scenarios for the FAAC B614 Automatic Barrier Gate

High-Frequency Commercial Parking & Corporate Access Lanes

The FAAC B614 24V electromechanical barrier is engineered specifically for continuous duty vehicle access control in commercial car parks, corporate office complexes, and paid parking management systems. In high-density access lanes where stop-and-go queuing causes severe vehicle backlogs, the barrier’s 24V DC brushed motor (165 W, 300 Nm maximum torque) achieves swift transit cycles, opening to an 80° angle in under 2 seconds with a 3-meter boom. The built-in FAAC E614 control unit regulates electronic and mechanical deceleration via a dual-stage reduction quadrilateral lever mechanism, mitigating drive-train stress during repeated, uninterrupted operational cycles.

Industrial Logistics Hubs & Wide Perimeter Checkpoints

Logistics facilities, freight depots, and distribution yards frequently require wide lane clearances to accommodate heavy goods transport alongside regular vehicular traffic. The FAAC B614 supports modular boom spans extending up to 6 meters. By combining round S-beam segments (Ø 75 mm) with internal joint assemblies (part 428615) and balancing tie rods, installers can secure wide entry perimeters without compromising mechanical balance. For installations handling high-span coverage, the cabinet accepts two counterbalance springs using the dedicated double spring fittings pack (part 490186), combined with optional adjustable end feet (part 428805) or stationary support forks (part 428806) to support the boom when lowered.

Multi-Unit Residential Developments & Restricted Communities

For residential complexes and gated communities, pedestrian and vehicular safety is an absolute prerequisite. The FAAC B614 utilizes an incremental encoder integrated directly into the 24V drive motor to provide real-time mechanical motion feedback. This allows the E614 board to detect physical obstacles immediately, executing a rapid automatic reverse-on-obstacle motion that meets anti-crushing and impact force safety standards. System integrators can effortlessly network perimeter safety loops, flashing traffic indicators (part 410032), and non-polarised safety photocells across the cabinet’s 2-wire FAAC BUS 2Easy terminal. Round S-profile and rectangular booms are factory-supplied with protective rubber edges to minimize contact risk.

Demanding Outdoor Environments & Continuous Security Checkpoints

The B614 barrier cabinet is built from steel treated with a 20 μm pre-hot dip galvanization and finished with weather-resistant polyester powder coating, available in Red RAL 3020 or Grey RAL 9006. Designed to operate in harsh climatic conditions across an ambient temperature range of -20°C to +55°C, the chassis provides IP44 environmental ingress protection, with an internal IP55 enclosure shielding the top-mounted E614 logic board. For sites subject to mains power instability, the barrier accommodates an optional XBAT 24 emergency battery kit (they are not included) (part 390923) for continued continuity, alongside an external triangular key mechanical manual release for maintenance.
