How does the eSSL AM System Master differ from the eSSL AM System Slave antenna?

Answer:
The Master pedestal contains the internal power module, digital signal processing board, and auxiliary 24V 3A DC output, enabling it to operate either as an independent standalone Mono antenna or as the controller for a Slave antenna. The Slave antenna lacks onboard processing and relies on the Master for power and signal evaluation.

When planning store exit aisle layouts, understanding the hardware differences between the Master (KTI01001002AMSM) and the Slave pedestal is essential:

  • Transceiver Controller: The Master unit houses the integrated smart chip processing motherboard, DSP signal analysis engine, and primary 110–220 V AC power conversion circuitry. The Slave pedestal contains detection coils but depends on the Master for signal decoding.
  • Standalone vs. Paired Deployment: The Master unit can function completely on its own in Mono transceiver mode, protecting an exit corridor with a single pedestal. In wider multi-aisle installations, the Master acts as the central hub and powers a Slave unit using its dedicated 24 V DC (3 A) output port.
  • Cost Optimization: While dual-aisle protection requires pairing a Master with a Slave, single-door boutique retail spaces can deploy the Master as an independent Mono unit without requiring an external controller cabinet.
