System Architecture and Hardware Compatibility

The eSSL EAS-AM-88 M&S Master pedestal (KTI01001002AMSM) is engineered to serve as the core controller and transceiver within Acousto-Magnetic (AM) Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) retail loss prevention infrastructures. Built around an operating resonance frequency of 58 kHz, the master unit provides native compatibility across all standard 58 kHz AM retail security tags, DR labels, and downstream slave antenna pedestals.

Transponder and Security Tag Interoperability

The internal Digital Signal Processing (DSP) architecture and upgraded smart chip kernel processor deliver high-resolution resonance detection across all standard 58 kHz AM merchandise tags, ensuring seamless cross-compatibility without vendor lock-in:

  • Acousto-Magnetic (AM) DR Sheet Labels: Provides reliable detection corridor widths between 150 cm and 180 cm (1.5 m to 1.8 m), suitable for securing pharmaceuticals, packaged cosmetics, boxed consumer electronics, and library media.
  • Standard 58 kHz AM Hard Tags: Delivers wide detection coverage ranging from 1.8 m up to 2.4 m across standard store entrance and exit passageways, ensuring consistent capture for clothing tags, pencil tags, and hard lanyard tags used in apparel retail and department stores.
  • Retail Merchandising Formats: Compatible with tagging solutions across diverse commercial retail environments, including clothing showrooms, hypermarkets, supermarkets, libraries, and consumer electronics outlets.

Pedestal Network Topologies: Mono and Master/Slave Configurations

The EAS-AM-88 Master antenna provides field-configurable topology options to match physical storefront architectural layouts:

  • Standalone Mono Mode: The unit can be configured and operated entirely as an independent Mono transceiver pedestal, managing both pulse transmission and signal reception across smaller entrance corridors without secondary hardware.
  • Master/Slave Synchronized Architecture: When wider entrance gates require multi-pedestal corridors, the master antenna functions as the central signal controller and power distribution hub for paired slave units.
  • Auxiliary Power Output Interface: The master pedestal incorporates a dedicated 24 V DC, 3 A auxiliary power output interface specifically rated to power and synchronize interconnected EAS-AM-88 Slave pedestals.

Electrical Mains and Site Infrastructure Integration

The pedestal is engineered for direct deployment across diverse commercial power grids without external step-down converters, accepting a universal operating voltage input of 110 V to 220 V AC. Total system electrical consumption is rated at a maximum of 200 W, while each individual antenna operates at an efficient work rate of 25 W. Thermal operating compatibility spans an ambient temperature range from -5 °C to 50 °C, ensuring stable continuous operation across climate-controlled showrooms and non-conditioned store entrances alike.

Environmental and Electromagnetic Tuning Compatibility

To operate reliably in electrically dense commercial spaces, the system includes integrated software-based anti-interference tuning. The onboard DSP smart chip filters surrounding electromagnetic emissions produced by fluorescent lighting ballasts, switching LED drivers, digital signage displays, and adjacent high-voltage wiring, maintaining high signal accuracy and stable detection performance.
