System Compatibility & Hardware Integration Architecture for eSSL AiFace-Mars

The eSSL AiFace-Mars visible light facial recognition and access control terminal is engineered for multi-protocol compatibility across standard electronic access control networks, building management systems, and enterprise workforce management platforms. Operating on an embedded Linux OS driven by a 900MHz Dual-Core CPU, 512MB RAM, and 8GB ROM, the terminal supports standard hardware signals and networking protocols to ensure direct interoperability with third-party security infrastructure.

Access Control Hardware & Locking Device Interfaces

The terminal features an integrated terminal block offering comprehensive peripheral interfaces for complete single-door access control. It interfaces seamlessly with the following door hardware components:

  • 3rd-Party Electric Locks: Supports hardwired relay integration with 12V DC magnetic locks (electromagnetic locks), electric strikes, drop bolts, and motorized locks requiring external trigger switching.
  • Door Status Monitoring: Equipped with dedicated door sensor inputs to track real-time open/closed door states, enabling door-ajar monitoring and unauthorized entry detection.
  • Request to Exit (Exit Button): Native inputs support push-to-exit buttons, egress motion sensors, or wave-to-exit touchless switches for manual or automated egress.
  • Alarm Output & Tamper Circuitry: Features a dry-contact alarm output interface compatible with external audible sirens, strobes, or integration relays triggered by system events, including the unit's built-in tamper switch alarm.

Networking & Protocol Compatibility

Data transmission and field-level integration are supported across both modern IP topologies and legacy access bus architectures:

  • TCP/IP Ethernet Interface: Standard RJ45 Ethernet provides high-speed communication for local area network (LAN) deployment, log downloading, and template synchronisation.
  • ADMS Push Protocol: Integrated ADMS (Automatic Data Master Server) functionality allows edge devices to push transaction logs and biometric metadata across wide-area networks (WAN) directly to central servers without requiring public static IPs at the edge.
  • Optional Wi-Fi Connectivity: Where structured Ethernet cabling is impractical, the terminal supports an optional Wi-Fi communication module for wire-free IP networking.
  • RS485 Serial Interface: Standard RS485 communication allows reliable serial bus connection to host PC stations or external serial controllers.
  • Wiegand Input / Output: Includes configurable Wiegand In and Wiegand Out communication lines, allowing the unit to act as a standalone controller receiving data from external slave readers, or as a high-speed facial reader sending credential data out to third-party central access control panels.

Credential Verification & Card Reader Compatibility

The unit supports multi-factor authentication through facial biometrics, RFID credentials, and alphanumeric PIN entry using the 5.0-inch touchscreen display and integrated T9 input system:

  • Facial Biometrics: Utilizes the Face VX5.8 algorithm paired with a 2MP WDR low-light camera and adjustable brightness LEDs, maintaining an onboard database of up to 3,000 face templates with recognition verification speeds of ≤ 1 second.
  • Standard 125KHz RFID: Factory-configured with an internal 125KHz EM ID card reader supporting up to 3,000 card credentials.
  • Optional 13.56MHz Mifare Reader: Available with an optional factory-installed 13.56MHz IC card module for organizations utilizing high-frequency Mifare card infrastructure.
  • 9-Digit User IDs: Supports 9-digit alphanumeric user ID assignments to maintain 1:1 cross-referencing with external human resource and payroll record numbers.

Enterprise Software & Power Requirements

For administrative management, attendance scheduling, and access privilege programming, the eSSL AiFace-Mars is fully supported by eSSL eTimeTracklite software. Through eTimeTracklite, administrators can configure complex security topologies including user groups, multi-tier access levels, anti-passback rule enforcement, holiday calendars, daylight saving time (DST) adjustments, and internal audit record query management (up to 150,000 on-terminal transaction logs). The unit requires an external power supply delivering 12V DC at 3A to support optical illumination, internal logic, and onboard peripheral relay signaling.
