eSSL AiFace-Jupiter Access Control and Network Interoperability

Enterprise Software and Central Management Architecture

The eSSL AiFace-Jupiter visible light terminal operates on an embedded Linux platform engineered for straightforward integration into enterprise IT and building security infrastructures. It offers native compatibility with eTimeTrackLite desktop software, allowing facilities to automate attendance record generation, shift monitoring, and multi-door access logging directly from an existing Windows-based management workstation.

For distributed branch offices and enterprise networks requiring real-time central server communication, the terminal incorporates standard Automatic Data Master Server (ADMS) cloud push capability. This allows the device to automatically transmit biometric verification logs, user transactions, and system events over wide area networks without requiring manual polling software or dedicated static IP configurations at client locations.

Access Control Hardware and Peripheral Interfacing

Equipped with dedicated low-voltage access control I/O terminals, the AiFace-Jupiter integrates cleanly with physical security entryways and secondary surveillance equipment:

  • 3rd-Party Electric Door Locks: Connects to external locking hardware, including magnetic locks (electromagnetic locks), electric strikes, and motorized drop bolts using onboard relay signal outputs.
  • Door Status Sensors: Accepts wired inputs from magnetic door position sensors to monitor open or closed states and report unauthorized door-held or forced-entry events.
  • Exit Push Buttons: Connects directly to external request-to-exit (RTE) wall switches and push buttons for interior egress triggering.
  • External Alarm and Auxiliary Lines: Onboard auxiliary input and dedicated alarm output terminals enable physical interconnectivity with sirens, auxiliary relays, and building alarm systems. Unauthorized casing removal triggers the integrated physical tamper switch alarm.

Network, Bus, and Controller Interconnections

The terminal features multiple industrial data communication options to integrate with access control panels, external readers, and local networks:

  • TCP/IP Ethernet: Facilitates direct local area network integration for rapid template synchronisation, log retrieval, and remote device configuration.
  • RS485 Bus: Supports serial RS485 communication protocols for multidrop field-bus wiring topologies.
  • Wiegand Input and Output: Features bidirectional Wiegand protocol interfacing. The Wiegand output port enables the unit to operate as a biometric reader connected to third-party access control panels (ACPs), while the Wiegand input port allows pairing with secondary standalone card readers.
  • Wi-Fi Communication (Optional): Compatible with factory optional Wi-Fi networking for sites where running structured CAT5/CAT6 UTP cable drops is restricted.

RFID Card Technologies and Biometric Standards

The AiFace-Jupiter supports multi-credential identity management across facial recognition, fingerprint reading, RFID smart cards, and numeric pin entry. Card compatibility depends on the installed internal module:

  • 125 kHz Proximity Module: Standard configurations natively read 125 kHz EM frequency cards and tags with a total capacity of up to 10,000 cards.
  • 13.56 MHz Smart Card Module (Optional): Can be ordered with factory support for 13.56 MHz Mifare (MF) contact-free smart cards.

Biometric processing leverages Face V5.8, Finger V10.0, and Palm V12.0 algorithms to achieve facial verification speeds of ≤1 second across a standard base of 6,000 face templates (expandable to 10,000) and 6,000 fingerprint templates (expandable to 10,000).

Electrical Power Requirements

The unit requires an external regulated power supply rated at 12V DC, 3A to support optical recognition, supplementary LED illumination, and onboard lock relay switching. This specific product SKU is supplied without an internal backup battery (they are not included), requiring connection to a dedicated continuous power supply unit or central battery-backed access control power system.
