System Compatibility and Integration Specifications

Gate Architecture and Structural Compatibility

The CAME BK-1800 electromechanical operator is engineered to automate heavy industrial sliding gates and multi-panel telescopic sliding gate systems. Structural compatibility requires that the moving gate assembly does not exceed a maximum total weight of 1800 kg and an overall leaf length of up to 20 meters. The installation foundation must be strictly level, as the drive architecture is incompatible with inclined or sloped tracks. In addition, the gate structure must be fitted with external mechanical end stops anchored at both ends of travel to define stroke limits safely.

Mechanical Drive and Toothed Rack Interfacing

Torque output from the 1150 N thrust electromechanical self-locking gear motor transfers to the gate leaf via an external pinion. Compatibility parameters for mechanical transmission include:

  • Rack Pitch: Compatible with Module 4 (M4) or Module 6 (M6) toothed drive racks.
  • Meshing Clearance: A vertical gap of 1 mm to 2 mm must be maintained between the pinion gear and the rack teeth across the entire travel span. The physical load of the gate must rest exclusively on its ground guide wheels or track, never directly on the motor pinion shaft.
  • Limit Switch Engagement: Compatible with electromechanical limit switches triggered by physical limit switch fins bolted directly to the toothed rack at the fully open and fully closed positions.

Electrical Mains and Supply Requirements

The unit connects to single-phase utility power networks and operates within standard commercial and industrial power distribution parameters:

  • Input Voltage: 230 V AC at 50/60 Hz.
  • Current Absorption: 4.2 A nominal operating draw.
  • Motor Power Consumption: 480 W rated load.
  • Run Capacitor: Pre-calibrated for use with a 31.5 µF operating capacitor.
  • Electrical Protection Class: Class I insulation rating with an integrated thermal protection threshold set to 150 °C.

Control Board, Auxiliary Power, and Safety Sensor Interfacing

The built-in CAME control board features configuration display programming, replaceable quick fuses, and terminal block arrays designed to coordinate auxiliary safety devices and access management hardware:

  • Auxiliary Accessory Output: 24 V AC supply output (up to 20 W maximum) dedicated to powering optical safety photocells, digital keypads, and command inputs.
  • Safety Edge Connectivity: Direct terminal compatibility supporting 8k2Ω resistive safety edges for perimeter entrapment protection.
  • Signaling Indicator: Dedicated 230 V AC flasher output contact rated for visual warning beacons up to 25 W maximum.
  • User Memory Capacity: Onboard storage supporting up to 250 individual radio transmitter users. For wireless access where handheld RF transmitters or remote control keyfobs require internal battery cells (they are not included), signal reception links directly into the onboard control board.
  • Manual Override Mechanism: Integrated self-locking gear release operated via a front-facing locked hatch using a specialized triangular key.
