Industrial and Enterprise Applications for the Biomax N-G4W

The Biomax N-G4W (NG4W) multi-biometric access control and time attendance terminal is engineered to manage high-volume identity verification across demanding commercial, educational, and industrial environments. Built with a rigid industrial enclosure and driven by a 1 GHz processor, the terminal supports up to 10,000 users, 10,000 face templates, 30,000 fingerprint templates, and a 200,000-transaction local audit log with sub-second verification speeds (≤ 1 s).

Heavy Manufacturing Plants and Industrial Facilities

Factory floors and fabrication facilities present operational challenges such as ambient airborne dust, fluctuating temperatures (0°C to 50°C), and worn finger ridges. The Biomax N-G4W incorporates a 500 DPI optical biometric sensor engineered for adaptation to dry, moist, and rough fingerprints. Concurrently, touchless facial recognition eliminates skin-to-prism contact entirely, functioning without specialized ambient studio lighting.

The system easily handles shift changes with thousands of workers punch-logging within narrow time intervals. With native Push Data protocol support, attendance logs push automatically over TCP/IP Ethernet or integrated Wi-Fi straight to centralized enterprise payroll or Biomax Desktop, Web, and Cloud management software platforms.

High-Throughput Turnstiles and Perimeter Access Points

For facility gates, turnstiles, and speed lanes handling continuous pedestrian traffic, identification speed is vital. The N-G4W executes authentication algorithms with a False Acceptance Rate (FAR) of 0.00001% and a False Rejection Rate (FRR) of 0.001%. Integrated hardware features include dual relay outputs configured to trigger:

  • Tripod turnstiles, flap barriers, and motorized swing gates
  • Electromechanical door locks, magnetic shear locks, and drop bolts
  • Secondary signaling systems via physical dry contact terminals

For installations where hardwired LAN cabling is inaccessible, such as remote security guardhouses or detached entry gates, the terminal accommodates an optional 4G GPRS communication module alongside standalone USB data retrieval.

Corporate Campuses and Multi-Tenant Facilities

Enterprise headquarters require diverse, flexible credential handling for regular employees, contractors, and visiting personnel. The 4.3-inch color touch screen (480 x 272 resolution) provides clear self-service logs and English voice guidance powered by a 16-bit Hi-Fi audio system. Administrators can register users across multiple credential types, including 125 kHz EM proximity RFID cards (standard), 13.56 MHz Mifare smart cards (factory optional), optical facial geometry, and biometric fingerprints.

Secure Air-Locks, Server Rooms, and Cleanrooms

High-security interior access points demand strict ingress and egress verification. The N-G4W features onboard Wiegand Input and Wiegand Output connectivity, allowing direct pairing with external slave readers such as the Biomax N-FR12, standard third-party Wiegand card readers, push-to-exit buttons, remote controls, or touch-free infrared sensors. The unit operates from a 12V DC, 2A power feed and can be paired with an optional battery backup (they are not included) to preserve continuous access control during primary grid failures.
