Hardware, Network, and Software Compatibility

Credential and RFID Frequency Compatibility

The Biomax N-G4W multi-biometric terminal provides native support for radio frequency identification (RFID) technologies. The baseline hardware configuration integrates a 125 kHz EM proximity card reader, supporting standard 125 kHz EM format cards and keyfobs up to a capacity of 10,000 RFID credentials. For facilities utilizing high-frequency smart cards, the device supports a factory-configured optional 13.56 MHz Mifare reader module, ensuring compatibility with 13.56 MHz Mifare contact-free standards across enterprise environments.

Exit Readers and Peripheral Hardware Interfacing

The N-G4W integrates seamlessly with downstream exit hardware and secondary biometric capture units. The terminal features dedicated interface ports that support:

  • Biomax N-FR12 Slave Readers: Direct connection for bidirectional fingerprint and card access setups on a single door.
  • Third-Party Wiegand Readers: Integrated Wiegand Input port supports external credential readers using standard Wiegand transmission protocols.
  • Egress Controls: Native terminal connections accept standard request-to-exit push buttons and infrared no-touch optical exit sensors.
  • Remote Access Triggers: Direct auxiliary connection support for commercial RF remote control relay receivers.

Access Control Relay and Lock Architecture

Engineered for perimeter security and door management, the Biomax N-G4W features two built-in relay outputs for door control. These dual physical relay circuits allow the terminal to interface with electric strikes, electromagnetic locks (maglocks), electric drop bolts, motorized turnstile mechanisms, flap barriers, and automated gate operators. Through its integrated Wiegand Output interface, the unit can also operate as a high-capacity biometric edge reader wired directly to upstream multi-door access control panels.

Network, Communication, and Infrastructure Compatibility

The terminal integrates into existing corporate and industrial network infrastructures through multiple hardware interfaces:

Interface TypeSpecification / CompatibilityFunctional Purpose
Wired EthernetTCP/IP (RJ45)High-speed local network communication and centralized server management
WirelessWi-Fi (Integrated)Cable-free network integration on enterprise wireless local area networks
Serial ProtocolsRS232 / RS485Point-to-point serial communication and industrial multidrop bus loops
USB InterfaceUSB Host / SlaveOffline manual log extraction and user database updates via USB drive
Cellular4G GPRS (Optional module)Autonomous cellular synchronization for remote locations without LAN access
Power Supply12V DC, 2AStandard access control auxiliary power supply or optional battery backup (they are not included)

Software Platforms and Enterprise Integration

For data logging, personnel scheduling, and payroll tracking, the Biomax N-G4W features embedded Push Data communication protocol support. This protocol automatically transfers real-time event logs (up to 200,000 transactions) to centralized servers without requiring recurring polling queries. The device is fully compatible with Biomax Desktop, Web-based, and Cloud-hosted Time Attendance and Access Control software platforms. Furthermore, system integrators can deploy the included comprehensive Software Development Kit (SDK) to establish direct bi-directional connectivity with enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), payroll calculation engines, and third-party Human Resource Management Systems (HRMS).
