Site Preparation, Mechanical Anchoring, and Wiring Guide

Proper deployment of the ZKTeco TS1000 Plus Series vertical compact tripod turnstile (Model Code: ECTS-A121-SH) requires thorough site preparation, structural floor anchoring, and dedicated conduit routing. Adhering to these civil and electrical engineering specifications ensures stable mechanical operation, seamless integration with access control infrastructure, and full access for ongoing maintenance.

Site Assessment and Environmental Parameters

The TS1000 Plus is designed for single-lane pedestrian access control in indoor environments or sheltered outdoor installations. Prior to placement, confirm that the installation site satisfies the unit's operational conditions: an ambient temperature range of -20°C to 70°C and a non-condensing relative humidity between 0% and 85% RH. The chassis is fabricated from 1.2 mm thick SUS304 stainless steel in a silver-gray finish and incorporates a built-in protective disk to shield internal drive mechanisms from dust, splashing water, and corrosive water vapor.

Clearance Spacing and Multi-Lane Layout

When planning lane layouts, verify dimensions against physical spatial constraints:

  • Footprint and Lane Dimensions: The chassis base footprint measures 100 mm x 420 mm, while the overall unit dimensions span 780 mm (L) x 750 mm (W) x 1000 mm (H) with a 500 mm barrier arm length providing a 550 mm passage lane width.
  • Wall Clearance: When installing adjacent to a solid wall, maintain a minimum clearance of 100 mm between the turnstile chassis and the wall surface to facilitate complete opening of the top lid during commissioning and servicing.
  • Inter-Device Spacing: In multi-lane installations with multiple parallel channels, maintain a 100 mm spacing between adjacent turnstiles to ensure unhindered lid access and mechanical separation.

Civil Works and Concrete Anchoring

The turnstile weighs 20 kg (net weight) and must be securely fastened to a flat, level, solid concrete foundation to withstand passenger passage and a maximum vertical load of 40 kg at the end of the 38 mm diameter stainless steel barrier arm:

  • Expansion Anchors: Mark and drill 4 screw holes into the solid concrete floor to a depth of 60 mm.
  • Fixing: Fasten the unit securely using 4x M12 expansion bolts and tighten firmly using an appropriate wrench.
  • Internal Chassis Access: Use the dedicated security key to unlock and open the top lid and chassis casing to access internal mounting holes and wiring compartments.

Conduit Preparation and Cable Routing

Underground conduit preparation must be completed prior to bolting down the turnstile base:

  • Conduit Sizing: Excavate two embedded conduits measured at 30 mm wide, 79.2 mm long, and 100 mm deep at the base location.
  • Protective Piping: Lay 20 mm diameter PVC conduit pipe inside the cutout channels to route cabling into the chassis interior.
  • Cable Pulling: Thread the primary AC/DC power supply lines, Ethernet networking cables, and emergency signal wires through the PVC ducting into the turnstile base.

Electrical Supply and Control Wiring Integration

Internal connections are made directly to the onboard motherboard and recommended controller terminals:

  • Power Requirements: Connect the main supply lines supporting 110V / 220V AC at 50/60 Hz or DC 12V. Operational power consumption is rated at 10VA on standby and 40VA during active arm rotation.
  • Emergency Release Input: Connect emergency systems to the motherboard's dedicated voltage-free dry-contact fire alarm relay port to trigger the automatic drop-arm mechanism during fire alarms.
  • Access Controller Integration: Interface external readers or controllers—such as the ZKTeco C3-200 Pro Plus or InBio260 Pro Plus—via the motherboard's RS485 communication port or digital inputs. Supported authentication peripherals include undermount ProID Series and KR Series RFID readers, fingerprint modules, QR code scanners, or wired/wireless remote triggers.
