System Integration & Technical Compatibility: ZKTeco SBTL500

Access Control and Credential Reader Integration

The ZKTeco SBTL500 single lane swing barrier turnstile is engineered for seamless interfacing with standard commercial and industrial access control architectures. The turnstile supports factory pre-integration and plug-and-play operation with both RFID card readers and biometric fingerprint authentication modules. When valid credentials (RFID cards or biometric fingerprints) are authenticated, the controller triggers the barrier mechanism, executing a rapid 0.6-second swing opening to facilitate a continuous throughput of up to 30 people per minute.

The unit features integrated LED indicator support to provide direct visual signaling to approaching pedestrians regarding lane status, authorization confirmation, and traffic direction, ensuring clear communication at the access checkpoint.

Electrical, Power, and Network Interfacing

The SBTL500 swing barrier operates across standard global electrical utility ratings without requiring specialized power conversion hardware. Its internal power supply supports dual AC voltage ranges:

  • Operating Voltage: AC 100V–120V and AC 200V–240V at 50/60 Hz utility frequency.
  • Network & Tether Infrastructure: Designed to route standard Ethernet network communication lines and internal tether cables directly to the main control board.
  • Conduit Provisioning: Dedicated internal wire slots interface with standard φ25mm PVC conduits embedded in the mounting foundation for clean, isolated routing of low-voltage communication and AC power feeds.
  • Grounding Requirements: Requires solid bonding to an external protective ground wire at designated internal chassis grounding points prior to operational commissioning.

Life Safety and Emergency Mode Operation

For compatibility with facility life safety protocols and building egress regulations, the SBTL500 features a built-in emergency fail-safe mode. In the event of an AC power failure or emergency power cutoff, the barrier drive automatically unlocks its acrylic wings. This design allows occupants to push through the 650 mm clear lane easily and manually without resistance, providing an unobstructed exit pathway toward safety.

Physical and Structural Mounting Compatibility

Physical installation requires planning the turnstile's footprint (1360 mm length × 280 mm width × 980 mm height) onto an engineered foundation. Structural and environmental compatibility requirements include:

  • Base Substrate: Must be mounted onto a level, horizontal solid concrete platform raised 50 mm to 100 mm above the finished floor level to prevent water ingress.
  • Anchoring Hardware: Secures firmly to the concrete platform utilizing four heavy-duty M12 expansion bolts with matched washers and nuts.
  • Maintenance Clearances: A minimum clearance distance of 100 mm must be maintained between the turnstile cabinet body and adjacent walls or barriers to permit the key-operated top lid (SUS304 stainless steel and acrylic) to open fully for maintenance access.
  • Environmental Limits: Rated for indoor installations and sheltered outdoor deployments operating within ambient temperatures from -20°C to 70°C and relative humidity levels between 5% and 90% (non-condensing).
