With an onboard capacity to retain up to 1,000,000 transaction records and 10,000 events, the terminal operates reliably in both networked and standalone offline modes, syncing back to ZKBioSecurity once network connectivity is established.

To support multi-factor credentialing and secondary entry/exit verification, the FaceDepot-8AL incorporates comprehensive peripheral communication protocols, enabling direct communication with auxiliary reading devices and external controllers:
- Wiegand Protocol: Integrates with third-party access control panels and legacy Wiegand reader hardware.
- RS485 & RS232 Serial Interfaces: Facilitate robust, industrial-grade data exchange with slave readers supporting fingerprint (FP), RFID cards, 1D/2D barcodes, and QR-code scanning.
- Security Relay Box Compatibility: Interoperates with dedicated external security relay modules to secure lock wiring away from the external side of the perimeter, preventing physical bypass attempts.
