Bi-Directional High-Security Checkpoints (Server Rooms & Data Closets)

The ZKTeco C3-100 control panel is engineered to manage one door bi-directionally using two dedicated 26-bit Wiegand reader interfaces. In critical facility environments such as server rooms, network distribution closets, and telecom head-ends, controlling both entry and exit is vital for audit integrity. By pairing two external RFID or keypad readers (such as 125 kHz EM-Proximity, 13.56 MHz Mifare, or HID Prox devices), access can be strictly verified upon both entering and leaving the secure zone.

With an onboard memory capacity for up to 30,000 cardholders and 100,000 non-volatile log transactions, the controller maintains uninterrupted access policy enforcement even if host connectivity drops. Firmware-level Anti-Passback prevents unauthorized card sharing (tailgating) across sensitive doorways, ensuring each recorded entry must be accompanied by an exit transaction before re-entry is permitted.

Restricted Industrial Enclosures & Multi-Card Verification

Manufacturing facilities, research laboratories, and utility sites often house hazardous materials, chemical storage, or high-value inventory like tool cribs. For these risk-prone areas, the C3-100 supports Multi-Card Verification and First-Card Opening directly inside the onboard firmware.

  • Multi-Card Authorization: Requires multiple authorized personnel to present valid RFID credentials within a specified timeframe before the primary Form-C SPDT relay (rated at 5A @ 36V DC or 8A @ 30V AC) energizes to release heavy-duty electromagnetic locks or electric strikes.
  • First-Card Opening: Keeps restricted access zones locked outside normal operational shifts until a designated supervisor badge validates entry, automatically initiating standard operational door schedules.
  • Duress Password Protection: Keypad-equipped Wiegand readers allow operators under coercion to input a duress PIN, opening the entryway while simultaneously activating silent alarm systems via the auxiliary output relay.

Automated Secondary Linkages & Alarm Annunciation

Equipped with one dedicated door status sensor input, one exit button input, and one Form-C auxiliary relay (rated at 2A @ 30V AC), the C3-100 serves as an integration hub for physical access and local warning hardware. When paired with door position switches, the controller detects door-forced or door-propped conditions in real time.

These alarm events trigger programmable auxiliary output linkages to energize external sirens, visual warning strobes, corridor lighting controllers, or intrusion annunciators. The lock relay's dry or wet contact flexibility supports both fail-safe magnetic locks and fail-secure motorized drop bolts, provided inductive spikes are mitigated using a parallel FR107 diode.

Large-Scale Distributed Access Architecture

For mid-sized to enterprise-tier industrial complexes, standalone single-door controllers are networked using standard IEEE 802.3 TCP/IP Ethernet or RS-485 daisy-chain topologies. System integrators manage individual C3-100 boards (measuring 160 mm × 106 mm) distributed across utility corridors, riser rooms, or remote guard shacks back to centralized ZKAccess 3.5 software platforms.

When installed within dedicated powder-coated aluminium enclosures (380 mm × 80 mm × 280 mm), spaces are available to connect a 12V rechargeable backup lead-acid battery (they are not included) to safeguard system operation through power interruptions. Built-in over-current, over-voltage, and reverse polarity protections ensure sustained stability across harsh industrial electrical grids between 0°C and 45°C.
