Hardware and System Architecture Compatibility for SOLT STS-100FM

The SOLT STS-100FM wireless mat sensor system operates as an integrated sensing and transmitting endpoint within the broader SOLT wireless nurse call and attendant notification ecosystem. Designed to interface directly with existing SOLT alert networks, the system pairs a pressure-sensitive floor contact mat with a wall-mounted RF transmitter unit to deliver automated egress and patient fall notifications across healthcare, nursing, and assisted living facilities.

Central Receiver and Nurse Station Display Integration

The STS-100FM transmitter module utilizes a 434.6500 MHz operating frequency with Frequency Shift Keying (FSK) modulation and a maximum RF output power under 10 mW. This standardized radio frequency protocol allows immediate, native communication with SOLT central station receivers and master display terminals. It is fully compatible with:

  • SOLT SM3 Series Display Receivers: Integrates directly with numeric and alphanumeric central display boards, including the SM3-61PC master display receiver.
  • PC Data Monitoring Systems: Links wirelessly to centralized nursing management software, logging egress and call triggers alongside time-stamped room locations for auditable caregiver tracking.
  • Dedicated Annunciators: Broadcasts automated alert signals immediately upon activation, displaying designated bed, room, toilet, or washroom identifiers on central nurse station consoles.

Mobile Alert Paging and Wearable Receiver Compatibility

For mobile nursing personnel and facility caregivers, the STS-100FM transmits status calls directly to portable SOLT on-site pagers. The direct-to-pager transmission architecture ensures staff receive immediate mobile notification without requiring manual relay intervention from a central desk console. Supported receiver series include:

  • SOLT SP5 Series Pagers: Interoperable with alphanumeric belt and pocket receivers, including models SP5-100 and SP5-200.
  • SOLT SP7 Series Wrist Pagers: Supports staff-worn alerting units, including the SP7-100 wrist-watch receiver.
  • SOLT SP9 Series Pagers: Fully compatible with advanced vibrating and visual text pagers across the wider SP9 platform.

RF Signal Extension with Auxiliary Repeaters

In standard open environments, the 434.6500 MHz transmission provides an operating range of up to 150 meters. For multi-ward medical clinics, shielded architectural spaces, or large-scale multi-floor hospitals, the STS-100FM is fully compatible with intermediate SOLT repeater hardware:

  • SOLT SR5 Signal Repeaters: Accepts auxiliary range extension via standard SOLT SR5-series repeaters, including models SR5-MPR and SR5-BPR.
  • Multi-Hop Network Coverage: Signals routed through SR5 repeaters preserve unique transmitter IDs, allowing seamless routing from remote patient rooms or isolated wet rooms back to central monitoring stations without packet degradation.

Physical Mat Interface and Local Transmitter Hardware

The system relies on a matched physical-to-wireless boundary consisting of an electric contact stepping mat and an SB6-series form factor transmitter enclosure. Mechanical and electrical link points feature strict parameter compatibility:

  • Sensor Mat Connection: Includes a dedicated 1.4-meter foot step-button connection cable linking the floor-mounted pressure pad to the transmitter module.
  • Local Actuation Controls: Features integrated local Call actuation alongside an independent, dedicated Cancel button directly on the transmitter face to reset active alarm alerts at the bedside or washroom wall.
  • Twisted Pull Cord Hardware: Compatible with integrated pull cord assemblies providing extended manual pull reach of up to 1.0 meter.
  • Power Requirements: The wireless transmitter operates via internal batteries (they are not included) engineered to deliver an operational lifespan between 1 and 3 years depending on daily call frequency, requiring no hardwired external mains wiring.
