SOLT SM3-33PC Installation & Commissioning Guide

Mechanical Mounting and Surface Placement

The SOLT SM3-33PC wireless receiver display unit is engineered for fixed wall-mounted installation across nurse stations, hospital corridors, service dispatch desks, and industrial control rooms. The chassis measures 288 mm in width, 133 mm in height, and 40 mm in depth, with an approximate operating weight between 640 and 650 grams. Rear mounting slots allow secure attachment directly to flat vertical surfaces using standard mounting hardware.

Select an elevated installation location that provides unobstructed direct line-of-sight for duty personnel. Position the monitor away from dense electrical switchboards or large metallic shielding structures to prevent radio frequency shielding.

Electrical Connections and Power Supply

The display operates on a working voltage of DC 12V with a nominal working current draw of 10mA. Primary operating power is delivered using the external AC 110–240V to DC 12V 1A power adapter. Route the secondary low-voltage power cord cleanly to the DC input terminal on the receiver housing. Secure the cabling to prevent accidental disconnection or strain on the DC jack.

Antenna Setup and RF Range Optimization

The SM3-33PC utilizes an external dipole antenna providing 360-degree omnidirectional radio frequency reception. For optimal signal sensitivity across the 400 MHz / 434 MHz operating band using FSK (Frequency-shift keying) modulation, extend and orient the dipole antenna vertically. Collapsed or horizontally angled antenna positioning degrades reception performance and can cause intermittent reception dropouts.

Under standard indoor operational conditions, the receiver achieves a strong wireless signal reception range of up to 100 meters. If deployment spans multiple structural concrete floors or heavily partitioned areas, integrate compatible SOLT RF signal repeaters between calling points and the SM3-33PC master receiver to retransmit data packets without signal degradation.

Wireless Transmitter Registration (Over-the-Air)

Transmitter call buttons do not require physical data wiring to the display monitor. Bell IDs are registered wirelessly over-the-air directly into the SM3-33PC memory buffer. The receiver supports registration for up to 1,000 distinct transmitter IDs, with support for consecutive bell ID enrollment and full system ID memory clearing when reconfiguring call zones.

During enrollment, pair the display with compatible 1-key or 2-key (Call/Cancel) transmitters, such as the SB7 and SB9 series. If using 2-key wireless call buttons requiring 23A-12V batteries (they are not included), verify battery insertion prior to initiating over-the-air pairing signals. When a registered 2-key call point transmits a cancel command, the SM3-33PC clears the active call ID from the screen immediately, regardless of its position in the queue.

Audio Chime and Screen Configuration

Once paired, configure internal alert chimes and display parameters via the receiver menu interface. The SM3-33PC offers 22 built-in chime melodies and 9 discrete volume adjustment steps to match environmental ambient noise levels. The 3x3 Flexible Numeric Display (FND) handles alphanumeric 7-segment characters and numeric digits (0–9), displaying up to 3 calls simultaneously while maintaining up to 20 calls in its internal memory queue for rolling display recall.
