SOLT SL6-10RGB System Architecture and Calling Network Compatibility

Wireless Frequency and RF Transmission Standard

The SOLT SL6-10RGB corridor lamp receiver (KT SKU: KTI040120SLT10RG) is engineered to operate seamlessly within dedicated SOLT wireless calling networks. The device functions on the FSK (Frequency Shift Keying) Low Power radio communication standard across the 434 MHz band, utilizing a nominal center frequency of 434.6500 MHz. The RF architecture maintains a frequency stability rating of +/- 10 ppm, a transmission data rate of 1800 bps, and a channel spacing of 12.5 kHz. This standardized RF design ensures reliable, interference-resistant signal reception from synchronized calling peripherals across hospital wards, clinical suites, and commercial facilities.

SOLT Transmitter and Call Button Interoperability

The SL6-10RGB operates as a dedicated visual receiver compatible with the full ecosystem of SOLT wireless calling units. It pairs directly with standard SOLT transmitter series, including:

SOLT SB3 Series: Compact wireless call buttons utilized for standard patient assist requests and desk-mounted notification.
SOLT SB5 Series: Multi-key or single-key service call units deployed at bed heads and procedure areas.
SOLT SB6 Series: Multi-button calling stations designed for differentiated emergency and assist signaling.
SOLT SB7 Series: Specialized service and calling transmitters for ward and diagnostic stations.
SOLT SB9 Series: Industrial and medical-grade multi-function wireless pull/push transmitters.

Note: When deploying wireless call buttons that require independent battery cells (they are not included), verify RF pairing within the 434.6500 MHz frequency band prior to field commissioning.

Call Point Capacity and Multi-Bed Allocation

The internal memory of the SL6-10RGB supports pairing with up to 20 individual call points. System integrators can assign individual transmitters to specific bed stations, sanitary points, or room sectors. For facilities optimizing hardware expenditure, the receiver supports twin-sharing room allocations, functioning as a single common corridor light above shared patient rooms to indicate alerts for both occupants independently.

Alert differentiation is managed through the built-in 7-color RGB light engine, allowing facilities to map specific colors (including Red, Green, Blue, Cyan, Magenta, White, and Yellow) to distinct priority levels, room beds, or alert categories (such as regular call, code blue/emergency, or assist). The visual indication can be programmed for steady illumination or blinking/flashing operation, supplemented by an audible internal beeper that can be toggled on or off depending on the acoustic sensitivity of the installation zone.

Topological Integration with Repeaters and Display Consoles

In mid-to-large-scale healthcare infrastructures, the SL6-10RGB operates in parallel with centralized nurse calling hardware. While the lamp provides instantaneous, 180-degree local hallway visibility directly outside the doorway, transmitted signals concurrently broadcast to central nurse station hardware:

SOLT SR5-BPR Signal Repeaters: Used to extend signal propagation across multi-story buildings, reinforced concrete corridors, or deep ward wings without degrading packet integrity.
SOLT Central Receivers and Master Displays (SM3 and SM7 Series): Digital LED dashboard consoles deployed at main nursing stations to log incoming alerts alongside local corridor lamp activation.

Electrical and Infrastructure Compatibility

The SL6-10RGB is designed for surface wall-mounting directly above entryways, consultation rooms, or corridor lintels. Electrical compatibility requires an external DC 12V / 1A power supply connected to a universal 110–240V AC line power feed. In corporate or outpatient healthcare settings, the unit can also be deployed as an 'Enter / Do Not Enter' room availability light linked to local desk transmitters.

Installation and Hardware Setup for SOLT SL6-10RGB Corridor Lamp

Pre-Installation Planning and Placement Guidelines

The SOLT SL6-10RGB wireless corridor lamp receiver is engineered for surface-mount installation in healthcare facilities, clinics, eldercare centers, and commercial consultation suites. Proper positioning ensures optimum optical visibility along hallways and rapid situational awareness for nursing or facility staff. The unit features a compact white enclosure measuring 115 mm x 130 mm x 48 mm with a visual dome engineered for 180-degree corridor visibility.

Install the SL6-10RGB directly onto the wall surface above the room entrance door or at a ceiling-adjacent elevation along hallway perimeters. When deploying in twin-sharing patient rooms, a single SL6-10RGB corridor lamp can be installed as a common signaling fixture serving both patient beds. This centralized installation topology minimizes wall penetrations, reduces required cabling drops, and lowers hardware deployment costs by consolidating alerts from multiple calling points into a single multi-color indicator.

Electrical Wiring and Power Connection

The SL6-10RGB operates on low-voltage DC power supplied via an external 110–240V AC to DC 12V / 1A power adapter. Because the unit acts as an active wireless receiver and high-luminance visual annunciator, it requires a constant power feed rather than internal cells.

Route the low-voltage DC power output cable from the 12V / 1A adapter directly to the terminal interface on the receiver base.
Connect the external adapter into a regulated 110–240V AC mains wall receptacle or a dedicated junction box positioned above the ceiling line.
Ensure low-voltage DC lead polarity matches the terminal designations during connection to prevent power supply faults.

Surface Mounting Procedure

Weighing approximately 110 g, the SL6-10RGB allows for straightforward mechanical mounting onto standard drywall, masonry, wood, or partition surfaces:

Mark the fastener positions on the wall surface at the designated transom or doorhead location, confirming horizontal alignment.
Secure the rear mounting chassis flush to the wall surface using wall anchors and screws appropriate for the substrate material.
Align the visual dome cover and snap or fasten it firmly over the base enclosure, ensuring the optical dome is seated cleanly for full 180-degree line-of-sight dispersion.

Wireless Configuration, Color Mapping, and Device Pairing

The SL6-10RGB operates on the FSK Low Power data transmission standard at 434.6500 MHz (+/- 10 ppm stability, 1800 bps data rate). It integrates seamlessly with compatible SOLT wireless transmitters (including SB3, SB5, SB6, SB7, and SB9 call button models; if transmitters require batteries, they are not included) and SOLT SR5-BPR repeaters or SM3 and SM7 central display consoles.

The receiver supports registration of up to 20 individual call points, configured according to room and zone requirements:

Call Point Registration: Put the SL6-10RGB into registration mode and trigger the designated SOLT transmitter button to map bed positions, bathroom emergency pulls, or room call stations (up to 20 call points per lamp).
7-Color RGB Mapping: Assign distinct visual alerts using the 7 available RGB light engine colors (Red, Green, Blue, Cyan, Magenta, White, and Yellow). Configure specific colors to represent distinct event types, bed designations in twin-sharing rooms, or availability statuses (such as "Enter / Do Not Enter" for consultation suites).
Illumination Mode Selection: Configure the output behavior per call priority to either steady illumination or blinking/flashing indication.
Audible Beeper Toggle: Set the integrated audible sounder to "beep sound on" for concurrent acoustic warning or "beep sound off" for silent, purely optical notification environments.

Commissioning and RF Verification

After completing physical mounting and pairing, initiate test transmissions from every registered call point to confirm that the assigned RGB color activates in the designated mode (steady or flashing). Verify that the optional beeper triggers properly if enabled. In facilities with extended architectural footprints or structural attenuation, verify uninterrupted signal reception across the 434 MHz channel, adding SOLT SR5-BPR signal repeaters where required to maintain stable network communication.

Industrial and Healthcare Application Scenarios for the SOLT SL6-10RGB

The SOLT SL6-10RGB corridor lamp receiver is engineered for rapid visual status notification in facilities requiring multi-point wireless signaling. Operating on the 434.6500 MHz frequency band under the FSK Low Power standard, the wall-mounted unit bridges wireless transmitter endpoints—such as the SOLT SB3, SB5, SB6, SB7, and SB9 series—with corridor-facing staff, providing immediate optical and audible awareness.

Twin-Sharing Patient Rooms and Hospital Ward Corridors

In inpatient hospital wards and clinical facilities, mounting visual alert devices above every individual bed entryway increases hardware and electrical installation overhead. The SL6-10RGB solves this by serving as a centralized, common corridor light for twin-sharing and multi-bed rooms. Because the unit can be configured with up to 20 call points, facility planners can pair patient station transmitters from adjacent beds to a single corridor lamp receiver mounted directly over the shared entrance door.

By allocating distinct colors from the integrated 7-color RGB engine (selectable across Red, Green, Blue, Cyan, Magenta, White, and Yellow), attending nursing teams can instantly distinguish which specific bed or patient station generated the transmission before entering the room.

Visual Triage and Critical Nurse Call Escalation

Emergency response times rely heavily on instantaneous visual differentiation between routine assistance calls and high-priority alarms. The SL6-10RGB incorporates configurable light output modes offering steady illumination or active blinking/flashing indication, paired with an onboard audible beeper toggle:

Routine Inpatient Inquiries: Configured for steady illumination in standard indicator tones (such as Green or Cyan) with the audible beeper switched off to maintain acoustic comfort in quiet clinical corridors.
Critical Assistance Calls: Programmed for blinking/flashing output in urgent hues (such as Red or Yellow) with the built-in sounder set to active beep mode, accelerating staff intervention during urgent patient events.
Bathroom and Wet-Area Pulls: Assigned dedicated call IDs within the 20 available memory slots, triggering differentiated optical alerts across the 180-degree visual diffusion dome.

Outpatient Clinics and Doctor Consultation Suites

Diagnostic centers, private clinics, and corporate environments utilize the SL6-10RGB as an over-the-door visual status and presence indicator. Positioned above executive offices or doctor consultation suites, the lamp receives wireless signals to duplicate workstation status:

'Enter / Do Not Enter' Status: Provides real-time visual gating outside consultation rooms, signaling whether a physician is currently examining a patient or available for the next scheduled appointment.
Administrative Duress: Enables back-office practitioners to silently call reception or security desks by actuating an under-desk SOLT button without alerting room occupants.

Large-Scale Assisted Living and Eldercare Facilities

In eldercare and nursing home networks, the SL6-10RGB integrates into wide-area topologies alongside SOLT SR5-BPR signal repeaters and SM3 or SM7 master display consoles. Powered continuously through a standard DC 12V / 1A input running from 110–240V AC building supplies, the 110 g receiver provides maintenance-free 24/7 visual alerting without requiring local replacement cells (they are not included). This layout maintains dependable signal repetition and visible hallway navigation for floor supervisors managing extensive residential wings.
