Installation and Commissioning Guide for SOLT SB7-1PBK Calling Transmitter

Surface Preparation and Mounting Procedure

The SOLT SB7-1PBK transmitter is engineered for rapid, non-invasive deployment across commercial, hospitality, and healthcare facilities. Featuring an ultra-lightweight profile of approximately 29 grams and a compact footprint measuring 60 mm in diameter by 15 mm in height, the unit can be affixed to flat surfaces such as dining tables, service counters, and facility walls without structural alteration.

Surface installation is primarily achieved using industrial double-sided adhesive pads or mechanical mounting fixtures. Before positioning the transmitter, the mounting substrate must be cleaned of grease, moisture, and dust to ensure firm adhesion. The scratch-resistant urethane upper case is sealed to IPX8 waterproof standards, making it impervious to water ingress and resistant to bacterial and algae growth. When mounting in wet zones such as SPAs, swimming pools, hotel terraces, or hospital outpatient departments, verify that the surface contact area remains level to prevent mechanical stress on the enclosure.

Power Supply and Battery Installation

Operational power for the SOLT SB7-1PBK is supplied by 2 x CR2032 lithium coin cell batteries (they are not included). These power cells deliver an operational lifecycle spanning 18 to 24 months under standard facility usage patterns. When installing or servicing the 2 x CR2032 lithium coin cell batteries (they are not included), access the battery compartment carefully to protect the internal perimeter gasket. Maintaining gasket alignment is essential to preserve the IPX8 waterproof rating against moisture exposure.

RF Setup and System Pairing

The SB7 transmitter communicates over the 433 MHz RF frequency band utilizing Frequency Shift Keying (FSK) modulation. Wireless transmission is omnidirectional across 360 degrees via an integrated internal PCB antenna, eliminating the need to orient the button in a specific direction relative to the receiver.

  • Unique Identifier Allocation: Each calling bell possesses a pre-assigned Bell ID selected from 16 million available identification codes, effectively eliminating RF interference and signal cross-talk in multi-unit installations.
  • Receiver Registration: Register the 1-button call and paired cancel functions into compatible SOLT receiver hardware, including SM3 series central LED display receivers, SP5 or SP7 wrist watch pagers, and SR5 signal repeaters.
  • Repeaters for Extended Coverage: In expansive properties or sites with dense architectural barriers, deploy SR5 repeaters between the SB7 transmitter and central receivers to extend signal propagation across the facility network.

Commissioning and Activation Verification

After physical mounting and receiver programming, conduct a functional transmission test by pressing the primary call button. Activation triggers the unit's indirect perimeter LED indicator lighting located along the top and bottom round edges. This dual-indicator illumination provides immediate visual confirmation to the user that the 433 MHz FSK signal has been dispatched. Confirm that the paired central LED display receiver or wrist pager correctly logs the call event and completes the paired cancel cycle.
