Installation, Mounting & Electrical Termination

The Ahuja AMH-402T 2-way PA music horn speaker is engineered for secure surface and structural installation in demanding industrial, commercial, and outdoor public address environments. Successful deployment requires attention to rigid structural anchoring, correct tap matching on 100V distributed lines, and weatherproof cable termination.

Mechanical Mounting & Structural Positioning

The unit features physical dimensions of W370 × H255 × D (they are not included)300 mm and a net unit weight of 6.5 kg. Mechanical installation is facilitated using the integrated heavy-duty mounting bracket designed to deliver rigid, vibration-resistant attachment against structural walls, structural steel, posts, or architectural supports.

  • Structural Loading: Verify that the structural mounting surface, brackets, and heavy-duty anchors are rated to support the 6.5 kg horn mass under ambient vibration and environmental wind loads.
  • Aiming and Alignment: Position the speaker bracket to direct sound projection towards target listening zones across railway stations, factory floors, stadiums, educational institutions, or amusement parks.
  • Environmental Placement: Constructed from UV-protected ABS plastic with IP65 ingress protection under EN 60529, the horn enclosure resists dust ingress and low-pressure water jets, enabling reliable indoor and outdoor positioning.

Electrical Termination & 100V Line Tapping

Electrical connection to the 100V line constant-voltage distributed audio distribution network is managed through an integrated terminal strip accommodating standard 2-core cabling. System engineers can match the acoustic output and system load requirements by selecting the appropriate impedance tap on the terminal strip.

100V Line Power TapNominal Line ImpedanceAcoustic Sound Pressure Level
40W RMS250 Ω114 dB (at 1 kHz, 1 m)
20W500 ΩTapped proportional output
10W1000 Ω (1 kΩ)Tapped proportional output
5W2000 Ω (2 kΩ)Tapped proportional output

At 1W input at 1 meter, the unit produces an SPL of 98 dB across a 120 Hz to 16,000 Hz operating frequency response driven by its 15.24 cm (6-inch) Kevlar cone low-frequency woofer and 2.54 cm (1-inch) phenolic dome high-frequency tweeter. Ensure that total cumulative wattage of all connected AMH-402T units does not exceed the continuous RMS capacity of the driving 100V line power amplifier.

Pre-Commissioning Inspection

Prior to powering the 100V line amplifier, confirm that all 2-core cable connections to the terminal strip are properly torqued, polarity across line arrays is uniform, and the enclosure mounting hardware is securely fastened to eliminate mechanical resonance.
