Mechanical Mounting and Directional Alignment

The Ahuja UHC-30 low-impedance PA horn speaker is engineered for secure mounting across industrial structures, perimeter poles, facility walls, and outdoor utility brackets. The unit is fitted with a robust metal mounting bracket designed to rotate through a wide 270° arc, facilitating exact directional aiming toward target acoustic zones. External bracket hardware utilizes corrosion-resistant stainless steel bolts, ensuring rigid mechanical retention under constant atmospheric exposure and high-vibration operational environments.

When positioning the speaker, ensure the structural mounting surface can support its 1.98 kg physical mass and withstand aerodynamic wind loads acting upon the ø313 mm bell flare and 285 mm housing depth. Secure the bracket using appropriate industrial fasteners through the bracket base holes before adjusting the 270° swivel angle. Once aligned to achieve optimal sound throw and coverage, fully torque the stainless steel mounting bolts to lock the position firmly.

Cable Gland and Environmental Ingress Protection

The speaker enclosure achieves an IP66 ingress protection rating, certifying full protection against dust ingress and high-pressure water jets. To sustain this degree of protection across long-term outdoor service, the Ahuja UHC-30 comes pre-fitted with a 0.6-metre (2-foot) 2-core sheathed speaker cable exiting through a factory-installed water-tight, tug-proof cable gland at the UV-protected ABS back cover.

Field terminations should be routed into a matching IP66 or higher weatherproof junction box when extending cable runs to the amplifier. Ensure the factory cable gland remains tightly seated and uncompromised during cable routing. Avoid placing severe mechanical tension on the 0.6 m lead to prevent compromising the watertight gland seal or straining internal voice coil terminations.

Low-Impedance Electrical Wiring and Load Matching

The Ahuja UHC-30 operates as a dedicated low-impedance acoustic transducer with a nominal impedance rating of 8 Ohms (8Ω) and a power rating of 30W RMS (45W Max). Electrical integration requires direct connection to low-impedance amplifier output taps (typically 4Ω or 8Ω outputs). This unit does not contain an internal 100V/70V line-matching transformer; do not connect it directly to high-voltage distributed line taps.

  • Impedance Configuration: For a single UHC-30 horn, connect directly to the amplifier's 8Ω tap and COM (common) terminal. When wiring two 8Ω speakers in parallel, the combined load becomes 4Ω, matching a 4Ω amplifier output.
  • Cable Sizing: In low-impedance distribution, maintain appropriate copper conductor cross-sections over extended wire distances to minimize series resistance, preventing signal degradation and amplifier loading anomalies.
  • Safety Compliance: All amplifier wiring and electrical safety procedures should adhere to the EN 60065 Low Voltage Directive standard.
