Installation and Structural Mounting Guidelines

Mechanical Mounting and Base Preparation

The AimGlobals AGS 3.25 KM electromechanical siren features a double-ended horizontal fitment configuration driven by an integrated 1 HP electric motor running at 8000 RPM. Due to the high rotational velocity of the dual opposing rotor heads and the substantial aerodynamic forces produced during sound generation, rigid mechanical anchoring is required. The unit is engineered with an integrated flat cast aluminium base plate equipped with pre-machined bolt slots to facilitate secure fastening.

Installers must position the siren horizontally on an elevated, vibration-resistant structural platform, rigid steel framework, or reinforced masonry pedestal. Maintaining true horizontal alignment is essential to avoid asymmetric mechanical load along the central motor shaft and internal bearings. Fasteners passing through the pre-drilled base slots must be torqued down evenly across all mounting points to prevent physical shift, frame distortion, or operational vibration during motor startup and continuous siren cycling.

Clearance and Acoustic Dispersion Positioning

The electromechanical architecture of the AGS 3.25 KM comprises dual siren housings positioned at opposite ends of the central drive unit. Each cast housing incorporates segmented axial air intake grilles on the outer ends and radially distributed rectangular sound discharge slots around the outer circumference. Red internal impellers draw ambient air axially through the end grilles and discharge high-velocity acoustic pressure radially through the stator slots to achieve the rated 3.25 km audible coverage.

To guarantee unrestricted airflow and maximize acoustic throw across industrial facilities, refineries, coal mines, or construction zones, installers must ensure adequate physical clearance:

  • Axial Intake Clearance: Maintain completely unobstructed space directly facing the outer end grilles of both siren heads to ensure proper intake volume to the internal impellers.
  • Radial Discharge Path: Provide a 360-degree clear radial projection path around both outer housings without close-proximity solid walls, partitions, or structural encasements that could deflect sound waves or create acoustic shadowing.
  • Elevated Line of Sight: Anchor the base plate at a sufficient elevation above local site obstacles to prevent ground-level sound absorption and allow the 3.25 km warning perimeter to deploy uniformly.

Electrical Integration and Power Connections

The AimGlobals AGS 3.25 KM operates on a standard single-phase 220/250V AC power supply. The unit utilizes heavy-duty copper wire motor windings capable of sustained high-current operational draws during continuous 8000 RPM run cycles. Electrical installation requires direct hardwired termination executed in compliance with local industrial electrical codes.

Wiring feeds to the 220/250V AC motor must utilize correctly rated industrial supply cable, suitable motor-rated circuit protection, and an external control switch, emergency tripping contactor, or integrated fire alarm signaling relay. Installers must confirm voltage stability at the siren terminals to ensure the 1 HP motor reaches its full operating speed for correct pitch and sound propagation across the entire 3.25 km acoustic radius.
