Hitune PM-90S Installation, Power Connection & Field Setup Guide

Physical Configuration and Shoulder Sling Setup

The Hitune PM-90S is engineered as a shoulder sling type public address megaphone, separating the primary 250 mm acoustic horn housing from the handheld unidirectional dynamic microphone. To deploy the unit for plant muster marshaling, outdoor industrial guidance, or emergency evacuation signaling, unpack the all-ABS polymer body and inspect the 370 mm chassis. Adjust the integrated shoulder strap so that the 2.2 kg megaphone rests securely against the operator's torso or flank, leaving both hands free to position the handheld microphone and manipulate operational switches.

Primary Power Setup: Internal Dry Cell Installation

Field deployment relies on a 6V DC internal operating circuit. Access the internal battery chamber located at the rear housing of the megaphone. Insert 4 x UM-1 cells (they are not included) according to the designated polarity markings molded into the chamber. Ensure firm terminal contact across all dry cells (they are not included) before fastening the compartment latch. For long-term facility storage or between scheduled safety drills, always remove the 4 x UM-1 cells (they are not included) to prevent electrolyte leakage and terminal contact oxidation.

External Power Setup: 6V DC Auxiliary Connection

Where extended high-output operation is required at static muster checkpoints or perimeter posts, the PM-90S supports an external power source. Connect an external 6V DC motor bike battery (they are not included) or compatible 6V car battery (they are not included) supply line to the auxiliary DC input terminals. Confirm that the external lead delivers a regulated 6V DC supply to prevent electrical stress on the internal 16W rated / 20W maximum power amplification circuitry.

Microphone Handling and Acoustic Feedback Prevention

The handheld microphone features an integrated unidirectional dynamic element designed to capture voice frequencies while attenuating ambient industrial background noise. Position the microphone 2 to 5 cm from the mouth when transmitting voice commands. To avoid acoustic feedback (howling), never direct the unidirectional dynamic microphone capsule toward the 250 mm horn flare while the volume control is adjusted to high output levels. Utilize the conveniently located volume control dial to modulate sound levels up to the maximum 20W peak, providing 0.4 km voice coverage under normal plant conditions and up to 1.0 km in quiet outdoor zones. Switch to the built-in siren mode for urgent evacuation alerting.
