Hikvision DS-KIS602 Hardware Installation, Wiring & Commissioning Guide

Mechanical Mounting and Housing Alignment

The Hikvision DS-KIS602 modular IP intercom kit requires proper physical positioning of both the outdoor entrance panel and the indoor viewing station to ensure environmental compliance and reliable tamper switch actuation. The outdoor DS-KD8003-IME1 door station measures 98 mm × 99.8 mm × 43.9 mm (3.86 in × 3.93 in × 1.73 in) and is engineered for surface mounting using the bundled DS-KD-ACW1 surface mounting frame. Secure the mounting frame to a rigid flat wall or exterior mullion using suitable anchors, maintaining vertical plumb to optimize the 2 MP fisheye camera field of view.

During installation, ensure the physical tamper switch lever on the rear panel of the DS-KD8003-IME1 module is completely depressed flush against the mounting surface. If the surface is uneven or the mounting bracket is misaligned, the tamper circuit will register an open loop, triggering continuous alarm notifications in the system software. The door station carries an IP65 ingress protection rating and an operating temperature envelope of -40 °C to +60 °C (-40 °F to 140 °F), making it suitable for unshaded exterior gates and residential entries.

The DS-KH6320-WTE1 indoor station measures 200 mm × 140 mm × 15.1 mm (7.9 in × 5.5 in × 0.6 in) and attaches to interior walls using the included surface wall-mount bracket. Position the bracket at a nominal height of 1.5 meters from finished floor level to provide comfortable ergonomic access to the 7-inch capacitive touchscreen (1024 × 600 resolution). The indoor unit operates within an ambient range of -10 °C to +55 °C (14 °F to 131 °F) and must be installed in an indoor environment free from water spray or condensation.

Power Distribution and Network Topologies

The DS-KIS602 system architecture relies on structured Cat5e or Cat6 twisted-pair cabling connected to the bundled unmanaged PoE network switch. The provided network switch features four 10/100 Mbps PoE-enabled RJ45 ports conforming to IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at standards, one 10/100 Mbps RJ45 uplink port, and an integrated 35 W PoE power budget with 6 kV lightning and surge protection on its networking ports.

  • PoE Infrastructure: Terminate standard TIA/EIA-568B RJ45 connectors on Cat5e/Cat6 runs from the DS-KD8003-IME1 outdoor station and the DS-KH6320-WTE1 indoor station directly into the switch PoE ports (ports 1–4).
  • Auxiliary Local Power: Where standard PoE is unavailable, both the door station and indoor station feature auxiliary terminals supporting a local 12 VDC / 1 A regulated power supply.
  • Network Uplink: Connect the switch uplink RJ45 port directly to the local area network (LAN) router or distribution switch to provide internet access for remote mobile connectivity and video stream routing.
  • Indoor Wi-Fi Alternate: The DS-KH6320-WTE1 indoor monitor supports 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi; if using Wi-Fi for communication, auxiliary 12 VDC power must be routed to the indoor station power terminals.

Relay Outputs, Alarm I/O, and Peripheral Interfacing

The terminal blocks on the rear of each station must be wired in strict compliance with voltage and current specifications:

Network Commissioning and Software Provisioning

Prior to closing the chassis, insert the bundled 16 GB TF storage card into the designated card slot on the DS-KH6320-WTE1 monitor to allow local storage of automated visitor snapshots and audio messages.

Apply system power to the PoE switch. Locate all connected endpoints on the local subnet using the Hikvision SADP (Search Active Devices Protocol) software utility or the iVMS-4200 client application. Activate each device by assigning a strong admin password. Assign fixed, unique IP addresses to both the outdoor door station and indoor monitor within the identical network subnet mask and gateway scheme; mismatched IP addressing or duplicate IP assignment will result in offline registration errors and packet delivery failure between the door call button and the monitor.

Link the door station to the indoor monitor via the indoor station setup wizard (UI V2.0) or web management interface by entering the door station IP address and verification credentials. Verify the bidirectional G.711u audio stream, H.264 video feed, dual-lock relay triggering, and SIP / RTSP streaming protocols across the local network and through the Hik-Connect mobile interface.
