Network Connectivity and Wi-Fi Association Failures
When the Hikvision DS-KH6350-WTE1 fails to connect to a local wireless network, verify the access point frequency band. The integrated wireless interface supports exclusively 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi under IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g, and IEEE 802.11n standards. It does not communicate over 5 GHz networks. If deploying on dual-band access points, configure a dedicated 2.4 GHz SSID or disable band steering.
For hardwired installations via the RJ-45 10/100 Mbps self-adaptive Ethernet port, ensure proper TCP/IP parameter assignment. IP address conflicts or improper subnet masking will prevent SIP registration and RTSP stream transmission between the indoor station, linked door stations, and Hik-Connect mobile services. Network parameters can be re-initialized using the built-in touch screen setup wizard without a PC.
Lock Control Relay and Output Activation Issues
If door release commands executed from the 7-inch touch screen or the Hik-Connect mobile app do not trigger connected access control locks, evaluate the lock control wiring and electrical specifications:
- Relay Ratings: The unit features 2 onboard lock control relays rated at a maximum of 30 VDC, 0.3 A. Connecting magnetic locks, heavy-duty strikes, or inductive loads drawing higher currents directly through these terminals will prevent operation and can damage internal circuitry. Use an interposing power relay when controlling loads exceeding 30 VDC, 0.3 A.
- Wiring Connections: Confirm dry-contact polarity and verify terminal block seating on the back of the indoor station.
- Extension Limits: Ensure the system architecture does not exceed the maximum capacity of 17 linked doorphones and 16 linked indoor extensions.
Power Delivery and Operational Stability
The DS-KH6350-WTE1 operates with a total power consumption of ≤ 5 W and requires stable power through one of two engineered methods. Failure to boot or recurring power cycling typically indicates insufficient voltage delivery:
- PoE Power: Ensure the network switch or injector strictly complies with the IEEE 802.3af standard PoE specification. Passive PoE injectors operating outside 802.3af voltage parameters will fail to power the device.
- Direct DC Power: When utilizing the auxiliary terminal block, verify that the external power source delivers 12 VDC, 1 A. Compatible power supply units include Hikvision model DS-KAW50-1 and DS-KAW50-1N.
- Environmental Conditions: Confirm that the installation location remains within operating limits: -10 °C to 50 °C (14 °F to 122 °F) and a non-condensing relative humidity range of 10% to 90%.
Audio and Video Stream Irregularities
If live video feeds from linked door stations or public IP cameras do not display on the 1024 × 600 TFT display, check video encoding standards. The station decodes video using H.265 and H.264 formats. Streams configured solely in alternative codecs will fail to decode over RTSP.
For distorted or muted communication, adjust volume levels directly via the touch screen interface. The device supports G.711 U, G.711 A, Opus, AAC-LD, AAC-LC, G.726, and G.722.1 audio compression at a bitrate of 64 Kbps, and features built-in hardware noise suppression and echo cancellation. Mismatched audio codecs between third-party SIP door units and the station will result in one-way or missing audio.
Storage, Snapshot, and Message Logging Faults
If the device fails to save snapshots, automated visitor voice messages, or alarm events, check the local storage configuration:
- Without TF Card: The indoor station utilizes 2 MB of internal RAM for picture storage (variable depending on picture size) alongside capacity for 200 notices and 200 alarm records. It does not record voice messages without external storage.
- TF Card Installation: For extended event storage, install a microSD/TF card up to 128 GB. An installed card enables storage of 200 captured pictures, 200 alarm records, and caller voice messages left when a call is unanswered.
- Alarm Bus Communication: If external security sensors do not report to the management center, check physical loop wiring across the 8 alarm inputs, 2 alarm outputs, and the half-duplex RS-485 serial terminal.
