Hikvision DS-KH2220-S Hardware and System Compatibility

The Hikvision DS-KH2220-S 4-wire analog video intercom indoor station operates within analog entry control infrastructures, utilizing standardized 4-core cabling topologies. Engineered as a core visual and communication interface for standalone villas, private offices, and multi-story residences, the unit provides structured connectivity for door entry stations, analog surveillance hardware, downstream cascaded indoor stations, and electric door locks.

Door Station Compatibility

The DS-KH2220-S is built for direct pairing with Hikvision 4-wire analog outdoor door stations, including the DS-KB2411-IM and DS-KB2412T-IM series. When interfaced with compatible outdoor stations, the unit supports two-way hands-free audio communication through its built-in omnidirectional microphone and integrated loudspeaker, processed with active noise suppression and acoustic echo cancellation. Operators can monitor the door station feed in real time on the 7-inch TFT LCD (800 × 480 resolution) via the dedicated physical Live View key, engage call functions using the Call Accept/Decline key, and activate electric door hardware via the physical Unlock key.

CCTV and Analog Video Input Compatibility

In addition to primary outdoor stations, the indoor station supports direct connection to external analog surveillance cameras. The unit accepts CVBS analog video signals over its dedicated 4-wire interfaces, allowing security operators and residents to switch between the outdoor door station camera and supplementary external analog cameras directly from the hardware control panel. The physical Image Key further enables manual and automated picture capture and on-device playback from connected video sources.

Multi-Station Cascading Architecture

For installations requiring distributed call answering across multiple rooms or floor levels, the DS-KH2220-S supports system expansion through physical station cascading:

  • Maximum Cascaded Units: Supports up to 3 indoor stations connected simultaneously within a single intercom loop (Indoor Station 1, Indoor Station 2, and Indoor Station 3).
  • Inter-Station Cabling: Utilizes 4-core cabling between stations to transmit video, audio, power, and ground signals.
  • Operational Parity: Secondary cascaded stations maintain call handling, live view monitoring, image capture review, and unlocking capabilities across the common door station line.

Interface Pinout and Subsystem Interconnect

The rear terminal array provides 4 four-wire connection blocks configured to support external peripherals, summarized in the interface compatibility matrix below:

Power and Environmental Operating Parameters

System integrators must verify auxiliary power supply compliance prior to deployment. The DS-KH2220-S requires a regulated 12 VDC power supply and maintains a maximum power consumption rating of ≤5 W. Environmental tolerances require installation within ambient operational temperatures ranging from -10 °C to +55 °C (14 °F to 131 °F) and relative humidity levels between 10% and 90% (non-condensing).
