Access Control & Reader Compatibility
The Hikvision DS-K3Y411X series flap barrier turnstile features an integrated access controller designed to interface seamlessly with diverse identification technologies. Native authentication modes support standard proximity radio-frequency identification (RFID) cards, biometric sensors, and optical scanners. The turnstile controller natively supports both 125 kHz EM cards and 13.56 MHz MIFARE (M1) cards. For higher security applications, the barrier interfaces with external biometric authentication hardware, including optical fingerprint readers and standalone facial recognition terminals. When facial recognition terminals are deployed on the turnstile pedestal, installers utilize the optional DS-KAB-COVER protective cover accessory, specifically manufactured for the pedestal's facial recognition mounting knockouts. The system also accepts optical barcode and QR code scanners for visitor management and ticketing workflows.
Onboard Communication & I/O Interfaces
Physical integration into plant networks, building management systems (BMS), and security monitoring panels is handled through a versatile array of onboard serial, relay, and IP ports. The turnstile mainboard provides comprehensive physical connectivity across standard automation protocols:
- TCP/IP Network Interface: 1 RJ45 Ethernet port supporting encrypted TCP/IP communications to prevent data packet eavesdropping and unauthorized network interception during credential validation and event transmission.
- Serial Communication Ports: 4 RS-485 ports and 4 RS-232 ports for peripheral hardware interfacing, including slave card readers, barcode decoders, and serial diagnostic devices.
- Programmable Relays: 2 lock outputs engineered for triggering external barrier locks or mechanical latching controls.
- Digital I/O Channels: 2 IO inputs and 2 IO outputs allocated for dry-contact automation triggers, passage feedback signaling, and peripheral monitoring.
Life Safety & Fire Alarm Linkage
Emergency egress integration complies with municipal life safety requirements through hardware-level fire alarm inputs. Utilizing the onboard digital IO inputs, the turnstile connects directly to building fire alarm control panels (FACP). Upon receipt of an emergency or fire alarm trigger signal, the internal control logic automatically retracts both transparent acrylic glass barrier wings into the SUS304 stainless steel pedestal housing, maintaining an open, unobstructed 600 mm lane width for rapid, fail-safe pedestrian evacuation until the alarm condition resets.
Peripheral Accessories & Wireless Controls
The DS-K3Y411X flap barrier integrates with dedicated mounting platforms and wireless oversight transmitters:
- Base Mounting Compatibility: Installs directly onto solid finished floors or pairs with the optional dedicated pedestal base, model DS-K3Y411X-BASE, allowing raised cable routing and stable placement across various indoor and outdoor flooring substrates.
- Wireless Remote Receivers: Supports optional remote controller modules operating at wireless carrier frequencies of either 433 MHz or 868 MHz for manual security desk override and barrier lane management. If wireless remote controllers require replaceable button cells or batteries (they are not included), these must be supplied separately during commissioning.
