Access Control Credential and Terminal Interfacing
The eSSL SB-ES-3216 Single Lane Swing Barrier is engineered with a standard dry contact communication interface, enabling seamless electrical integration with third-party security management systems, programmable logic controllers, and standalone access control panels. System integrators can deploy the barrier with high-frequency IC card readers, low-frequency ID proximity card readers, optical QR and barcode scanners for visitor management, or dynamic facial recognition biometric terminals.
Hardware signals from external verification terminals route directly into the internal control assembly, which consists of a 12V brushless simplified board, an electric control box, and an internal mesh board box. These internal control modules govern the Fengdun DC brushless 90K 30W motor and integrated brushless swing brake movement based on valid authorization triggers.
Operational Pass Logic and Passage Modes
The internal controller supports multiple operational configurations to match site-specific security requirements and traffic density:
- Transit Modes: Configurable between normally closed (active barrier wings opening upon authorization, rated up to 35 people per minute) and normally open (wings resting in the open position, closing only on unauthorized attempts, rated up to 50 people per minute).
- Directional Configuration: Supports bidirectional flow control, allowing independent setting of two-way card reading, one-way card reading with free egress, or locked barrier states.
- Authorization Memory Logic: Credential reads can be configured 'with memory' to buffer consecutive authorized scans in high-density queues, or 'without memory' to require individual cycle completion between successive entries.
- Transit Timeout Reset: Features an automatic reset function that cancels access and returns the clear acrylic wings to a locked state if the pedestrian fails to cross within the preset passage window.
Safety Interlocking and Sensor Integration
Pedestrian detection and transit integrity are managed via 6 pairs of integrated infrared sensors positioned across the 1400 mm cabinet length. The sensor array coordinates directly with the mainboard to execute anti-tailgating logic and prevent anti-reverse transit attempts. During motion, the infrared anti-clip protection operates while the gate is opening or running to prevent wing contact with passing individuals. Status feedback is communicated via a three-color light panel and a three-color light strip for directional guidance.
Emergency System and Electrical Specifications
For facility life-safety compliance, the SB-ES-3216 features an automatic fail-safe unlocking and opening mechanism. In a power-off state, the diaphragm wings swing open automatically to clear the walkway and accommodate fire-fighting egress requirements. The barrier operates on a universal main power input of AC 100V to 240V at 50/60 Hz, supported by an internal 24V 150W power supply unit with total equipment power consumption rated at 55W.
Lane Width and Architectural Adaptability
The barrier mechanism supports an adjustable passage width ranging from 600 mm to 900 mm. This dynamic dimensioning allows facilities to deploy identical SB-ES-3216 hardware for standard 600 mm pedestrian turns or expanded 900 mm lanes suited for wheelchair access and oversized luggage transit. The 1400 mm x 160 mm x 980 mm brushed 304 stainless steel cabinet fits into modular multi-lane bank configurations alongside matching swing barrier enclosures.
