Which reader interfaces, network protocols, and peripheral alarm systems are compatible with the eSSL C3-400?

Answer:
The C3-400 supports up to 12 readers total, accepting 4 industry-standard 26-bit Wiegand readers or up to 8 RS-485 readers. It communicates over TCP/IP and RS-485 buses, while its auxiliary I/O interfaces directly with smoke detectors, fire panels, IR motion sensors, sirens, and CCTV triggers.

The eSSL C3-400 delivers versatile interface options for industrial and commercial building management systems:

  • Reader Compatibility: Accommodates up to 12 readers across its ports. System integrators can deploy either 4 standard 26-bit Wiegand credential readers (RFID proximity, MIFARE, or compatible HID formats) or up to 8 RS-485 bus readers.
  • Network Communication: Features an onboard RJ-45 TCP/IP Ethernet interface for LAN/WAN connectivity and centralized server communication, an RS-485 serial communication bus, and optional Wi-Fi connectivity.
  • Auxiliary Sensor Compatibility: The 4 auxiliary input channels accept dry/wet contact signals from fire alarm panels, optical smoke detectors, and infrared PIR motion sensors for automated emergency door release or alarm triggering.
  • Auxiliary Output Interfacing: The 4 auxiliary Form-C relays interface directly with external audible sirens, strobe alarms, visual indicators, CCTV recording trigger inputs, or doorbells.
