eSSL AiFace - Mars System Compatibility & Hardware Integration

The eSSL AiFace - Mars terminal (KT reference: KTI01002003AFMR) provides multi-protocol connectivity engineered for direct deployment within enterprise IT networks, building management systems (BMS), and physical access control architectures. Built upon an embedded Linux operating platform running a 900 MHz Dual Core processor with 512 MB RAM and 8 GB ROM, the hardware interfaces seamlessly with external management software, electronic locking hardware, credential readers, and central security controllers.

Software and Server Compatibility

Centralized workforce management and credential dispatch are executed through official support for eSSL eTimeTracklite attendance and access control software. The terminal incorporates native support for the Automatic Data Master Server (ADMS) protocol, allowing autonomous, encrypted cloud data push over local or wide-area networks. This makes the terminal fully compatible with distributed multi-branch attendance logging, transmitting transaction logs (up to 150,000 records buffer) and synchronizing up to 3,000 facial templates and 3,000 card credentials without local manual polling.

Through eTimeTracklite and native firmware functions, the unit processes complex security rules including customizable access levels, holiday schedules, user group privileges, 9-digit user IDs, daylight saving time (DST) adjustments, and anti-passback configurations.

Access Control Peripheral and Door Hardware Interfacing

The onboard terminal block interfaces directly with standard physical access infrastructure. It is compatible with:

  • Electric Locking Hardware: Direct relay output for 3rd-party electric strikes, electromagnetic locks (maglocks), and electronic dropbolts.
  • Door Status Monitoring: Dedicated input terminals for door position sensors and magnetic reed switches to monitor open/closed states.
  • Egress Controls: Request-to-exit (RTE) push buttons and push-to-exit touch sensors.
  • Security Alarm Signalling: Built-in alarm relay output triggered by forced door entry, door-held-open conditions, or the terminal's integrated hardware tamper switch.
  • Auxiliary Input: Interface for smoke detectors, fire alarm panel trigger relays, or external emergency override switches.

Controller Networking and Reader Protocols

To integrate into standalone door points or enterprise master access control topologies, the terminal provides dual-direction Wiegand communication alongside industry-standard networking:

  • Wiegand Input / Output: Operates as a master door controller accepting standard Wiegand signals from external auxiliary card readers, or acts as an edge slave reader transmitting verified credential IDs to 3rd-party central access control panels.
  • TCP/IP Ethernet & Optional Wi-Fi: Standard RJ45 communication interface for high-speed network communication, log downloads, and parameter synchronization. Optional Wi-Fi modules are supported where structured cabling is unavailable.
  • RS485 Multi-Drop Bus: Enables serial communication over industrial multi-drop loops to compatible RS485 controllers and peripheral slave hardware.

RFID Card and Credential Compatibility

Alongside visible light facial recognition algorithms (Face VX5.8), the terminal features modular RFID verification support:

Power Distribution Interoperability

The unit requires an external regulated power supply of 12V DC at 3A. Because this specific SKU model operates without an internal battery, continuous operation during mains outages requires connection to an uninterrupted 12V DC battery-backed access control power supply unit; if external backup batteries are installed in the central power supply enclosure (they are not included), ensure voltage ripple remains within acceptable operating tolerances.
