Deployment, Mounting, and Hardware Commissioning

Uniform and Duty Vest Mounting Procedure

The CP PLUS CP-EBC-4413 body worn camera is engineered for field deployment across security and patrol operations. Weighing 118g and measuring 84mm x 56mm x 27mm, the unit mounts directly to duty vests, tactical webbing, epaulets, or uniform shirt pockets using the supplied heavy-duty chest clip.

When positioning the camera on personnel attire, ensure the 120-degree wide-angle lens maintains an unobstructed forward-facing perspective. Fasten the clip securely to the fabric or vest seam to stabilize the frame during movement. Field testing demonstrates that vertical chest-level positioning provides the optimal vantage point for evidence capture while keeping the top and side hardware buttons readily accessible.

Initial Power Connection and Battery Charging

Before operational field deployment, the integrated 2700mAh battery (they are not included) must undergo a complete charging cycle. Connect the supplied Mini USB 2.0 cable to the device's USB port and attach the included power adapter to a standard electrical outlet.

  • Charging Time: Approximately 3.5 hours from depletion to full capacity.
  • Status Indicator (Charging): The dedicated status indicator LED displays solid red during charge cycles.
  • Status Indicator (Fully Charged): The LED transitions to solid green once the 2700mAh battery (they are not included) reaches 100% capacity.
  • Operational Autonomy: Fully charged, the battery (they are not included) delivers approximately 12 hours of continuous recording at 720P, 11 hours at 1080P, and up to 240 hours of standby time.

Storage Setup and Software Configuration

The device is supplied with a standard 32GB Micro SD card installed and supports card expansion up to 512GB. To configure device parameters, connect the camera to an administrative workstation using the Mini USB 2.0 interface. The unit supports optional U-disk transfer mode for file retrieval and direct parameter setting via the included client software CD.

Through the configuration interface or the internal on-screen menu displayed on the 2.0-inch color screen, administrators must establish the following baseline settings prior to issue:

  • Watermark Attribution: Configure the embedded Date, Time, and specific User ID metadata overlaid on all captured JPEG photos and MOV video files.
  • Recording Segment Length: Select video clip chunking durations (10 minutes, 20 minutes, or 30 minutes optional).
  • Buffer Configurations: Activate pre-recording buffers (up to 60 seconds) and post-recording intervals (adjustable from 5 seconds to 10 minutes).
  • Memory Overwrite: Confirm automatic loop overwrite is enabled to ensure uninterrupted recording when the Micro SD card fills.
  • Power Management: Set the auto-off timer (10, 20, 30, or 60 minutes) to conserve power when the device is idle.

Commissioning Checklist and Hardware Verification

Conduct a physical functional check prior to deploying personnel into the field. The camera boots in approximately 3 seconds. Technicians should verify responsive tactile feedback from the dedicated hardware buttons: Power on/off, Record (REC), Audio, Menu, Playback, IR, Lighting, and Reset.
