Network and Enterprise IT Infrastructure Compatibility
The Biomax N-G4W multi-biometric terminal provides multi-tier network connectivity to adapt to diverse enterprise IT environments. For wired local area networks, the terminal integrates standard TCP/IP Ethernet connectivity via an RJ45 interface. For wireless deployments, it features onboard Wi-Fi to establish real-time communication across wireless routers without requiring dedicated physical network drops. In remote, unmanned, or distributed off-grid installations lacking standard broadband infrastructure, the unit supports an optional 4G GPRS communication module. For local maintenance, firmware updates, or manual transaction offloading, built-in USB host and USB slave ports allow direct communication with PCs or standard USB storage drives.
Access Control Panel, Reader, and Egress Peripheral Interfacing
Engineered for full architectural integration within physical security infrastructure, the Biomax N-G4W includes dedicated hardware I/O interfaces for bidirectional data exchange and locking hardware control:
- Wiegand In and Out: The terminal features integrated Wiegand input and Wiegand output interfaces. The Wiegand input enables connection to external slave credential readers for dual-door control or in/out tracking, while the Wiegand output allows the terminal to function as a biometric reader node wired directly into third-party central access control panels.
- RS485 Peripheral Integration: Includes an onboard RS485 communication bus designed to interface directly with external peripheral slave readers, such as the Biomax N-FR12 exit reader.
- Relay Output: An integrated physical relay terminal drives electric strikes, magnetic locks, drop bolts, turnstiles, and automated barrier gates directly upon authorized verification.
- Egress Controls: The input terminal bus supports standard push-to-exit buttons, no-touch optical exit sensors, and wireless exit remotes for secure room egress.
Credential and RFID Frequency Compatibility
The Biomax N-G4W provides native identity credential verification matching existing access badge populations across enterprise facilities. The base unit is configured for standard 125 kHz EM proximity RFID card protocols. For installations requiring higher frequency contactless technologies, an optional 13.56 MHz Mifare card reading module is available. The system stores up to 10,000 card credentials matched to 10,000 user profiles, supporting multi-factor identity verification combinations including face, fingerprint, RFID card, and PIN passwords.
Software Platforms, SDKs, and Peripheral Device Integration
The device runs an embedded Linux operating system on a 1 GHz processor and is fully compatible with Biomax Desktop, Biomax Web, and Biomax Cloud attendance management software architectures. Real-time Push Data protocol support allows instantaneous synchronization of verification logs directly to central servers across geographically distributed branch locations, facilitating remote employee enrollment, card assignment, user deletion, and credential expiration. For proprietary enterprise software, HRMS, and ERP ecosystems, a comprehensive software development kit (SDK) is available for custom API-level transactional integration.
For specialized industrial deployments, the onboard RS232 serial communication port supports direct interfacing with external thermal receipt and token printers, enabling automated canteen management and food coupon dispensing operations. Electrical compatibility requires a regulated 12V DC, 2A power source, and the terminal supports optional internal or external backup battery (they are not included) connections for continued operational uptime during mains failures.
