Physical Placement and Podium Assembly
The Ahuja ASL-3000R is an integrated Public Address lectern measuring 580 mm (W) × 1150 mm (H) × 420 mm (D) with a total system weight of approximately 18.20 kg. For optimal acoustic projection and structural stability, assemble and position the lectern base on a flat, level stage or presentation platform in auditoriums, conference halls, educational institutions, or corporate boardrooms. Ensure adequate clearance around the lectern perimeter for operator access and line-of-sight communication.
Podium Top Component and Mains Power Integration
The upper podium console features dedicated sockets for top-mounted presentation accessories. Connect the supplied 460 mm (18-inch) detachable gooseneck condenser microphone directly into the podium top Mic-1 socket (input sensitivity rated at 8mV). Mount the included podium reading light into its corresponding top port to ensure clear document illumination during presentations. Connect the main power input to an AC 220–240V, 50/60Hz mains outlet; the system operates with an AC power consumption rating of 100VA. Presenters can utilize the integrated DC 5V, 1A USB charging outlet positioned on the podium top for charging mobile devices during sessions.
Audio Input Routing and External Speaker Connection
The ASL-3000R provides versatile input interfaces to integrate auxiliary audio hardware and secondary microphones alongside its internal Class D amplifier (delivering 60W Rated, 90W Max output):
- Combo Input Socket: Accommodates a wired microphone via a 6.3mm (1/4") phone plug (Mic-2 sensitivity: 5mV) or an external balanced line audio source via an XLR male plug (Line sensitivity: 100mV).
- Auxiliary Input: Accepts external media players or background sources via a 6.3mm (1/4") phone plug (Aux sensitivity: 200mV).
- Speaker Output Selector: The lectern is equipped with 3 internal 6.5-inch (165 mm) coated dual cone speakers. When external sound reinforcement is required, connect an external speaker load with an impedance between 4Ω to 8Ω using the 6.3mm (1/4") output jack. Use the onboard INT./EXT. selector switch to route output between the internal speaker array and the external speaker cabinets.
- MIX Output: A 775mV line-level MIX output is accessible via a 6.3mm (1/4") socket to feed mixed audio signals directly into external house sound consoles or standalone recording devices.
Wireless VHF Microphone Setup
The integrated dual-channel VHF wireless receiver synchronizes with the two supplied VHF handheld transmitters operating on two distinct fixed frequencies. To prepare each transmitter (dimensions: Ø55 mm × 248 mm, weight: 180 g without batteries), open the lower housing and insert 2 × 1.5V AA pencil cells (they are not included) matching correct polarity. The dynamic cardioid transmitter operates at an RF output power of 15mW max with current consumption below 100 mA.
Acoustic Calibration and Voice Priority Activation
Adjust system equalization using the rotary tone controls, which provide ±5dB adjustment at 100Hz (Bass) and ±5dB adjustment at 10kHz (Treble) across an overall system frequency response of 50 Hz to 16,000 Hz. For automatic background attenuation during speech delivery, activate the voice priority function via the dedicated slide switch. When set to ON, signals from the gooseneck podium microphone and the two VHF handheld wireless transmitters will automatically override and attenuate background line and auxiliary inputs.
