Ahuja ASL-3000R Audio System Interfacing and Hardware Compatibility

Microphone and Audio Input Interfacing

The Ahuja ASL-3000R PA Lectern System is engineered with versatile input stages to integrate into diverse audio-visual configurations across auditoriums, conference rooms, boardrooms, and academic lecture halls. The podium top features a dedicated connector for the included 460 mm (18-inch) detachable gooseneck condenser microphone (Mic-1), calibrated for an input sensitivity of 8mV.

For auxiliary presentation audio and additional speech inputs, the console integrates a multi-format combo input socket. This socket accepts a secondary wired microphone via a standard 6.3mm (1/4") phone plug with an input sensitivity of 5mV (Mic-2), or a balanced line-level source via an XLR male plug with a 100mV sensitivity. A dedicated 6.3mm (1/4") auxiliary input socket with a 200mV sensitivity enables direct connection to external media players, laptops, mixing consoles, or conferencing codec audio outputs.

Integrated Wireless VHF and Digital Media Interoperability

The lectern includes an integrated dual-channel VHF wireless receiver engineered to operate simultaneously with two supplied VHF handheld wireless transmitters on pre-tuned, distinct fixed frequencies. Each transmitter uses a dynamic cardioid capsule with a 50 Hz to 15,000 Hz frequency response and requires 3V DC supplied by 2 x 1.5V AA pencil cells (they are not included). A voice priority circuit automatically attenuates background audio when speech is detected on either the gooseneck microphone or the wireless handheld microphones, with an ON/OFF slide switch to engage or bypass priority ducking.

Digital audio playback and live recording are managed via an onboard multimedia module compatible with standard USB flash storage drives, SD memory cards, and MMC storage cards. The unit also features built-in Bluetooth connectivity for wireless streaming from paired mobile devices, laptops, or tablets, complemented by an infrared remote control. For continuous mobile device operation during presentations, a dedicated DC 5V, 1A USB charging port is integrated directly into the podium top.

External Speaker and System Expansion Compatibility

To scale audio distribution beyond the built-in acoustic enclosure—which houses 3 units of 6.5-inch (165 mm) coated dual-cone speakers driven by the internal 90W Max / 60W Rated Class D amplifier—the ASL-3000R provides dedicated expansion outputs:

  • MIX Output (Line Level): Delivers a 775mV mixed signal through a 6.3mm (1/4") phone jack, enabling clean connection to external high-power booster amplifiers, house PA distribution networks, or dedicated audio recording equipment.
  • External Speaker Output: Features a 6.3mm (1/4") output designed for 4 Ohm to 8 Ohm passive speaker loads, allowing direct drive of satellite speaker cabinets.
  • INT./EXT. Speaker Selection: A physical selector switch allows system operators to toggle sound output between internal lectern speakers and connected external speaker arrays.
