Ador Indus CAM Installation & Deployment Guidelines

Executing the mechanical installation, electrical connection, and network commissioning of the Ador Indus CAM vehicle-activated speed sign (VASS) requires precise planning around physical positioning, detection alignment, and client scope demarcation. The assembly combines a 24 GHz radar sensor, an integrated 2 MP ANPR camera, and an IP65-rated display housing measuring 29 inches (H) by 29 inches (W) by 10 inches (D).

Mechanical Mounting and Enclosure Specifications

The Indus CAM is fabricated from noncorrosive metals with a curved polycarbonate front face and finished in Graphite Gray RAL 7024. The dry weight of the enclosure is 26 kg without batteries (they are not included). Mechanical mounting to vertical support infrastructure is achieved via dedicated pole mounting bracket kits. Field engineers must account for the following structural prerequisites:

  • Support Pole & Fixings: The supply, civil foundation, structural erection, and mounting hardware for the pole are strictly within the client's scope.
  • Structural Load: The pole and bracket installation must safely support the 26 kg static enclosure weight without batteries (they are not included), plus the weight of up to 2 batteries (they are not included) if secondary cells are housed in the dedicated dual-battery compartment.
  • Enclosure Protection: The housing is certified to an IP65 waterproof rating, engineered for continuous outdoor operational deployment in all-weather conditions across corporate campuses and industrial sites.

Radar and ANPR Optical Alignment

Correct positioning relative to incoming and outgoing vehicular traffic is essential to ensure optical lane coverage and microwave tracking accuracy:

  • Radar Sensor Positioning: The integrated 24 GHz (ISM / K-band) dual-direction radar operates across a vehicle detection range extending up to 250 meters, measuring speeds between 5 km/h and 199 km/h with 99% accuracy (±2 km/h). The assembly must face oncoming vehicles without structural line-of-sight obstructions.
  • Camera Field of View: The 2 MP IR ANPR camera operates at a maximum resolution of 1440P (2560 x 1140) with auto-focus optics designed for day and night imaging at 1920x1080 @ 50 fps. Mounting elevation and lateral offset must be calibrated to align optical coverage across 1 to 3 lanes.
  • Display Legibility: Position the sign facing oncoming traffic to take full operational advantage of the 300+ meter legibility distance provided by the 16-inch, 7-segment, tri-color LED speed digits.

Electrical Supply and Power Distribution

The Indus CAM operates with an average power consumption of less than 150 W, while its internal camera subsystem is powered through an internal 24V DC power supply. Site electrical preparation requires the following:

  • Mains Supply: A 230V AC (city lighting) power supply line terminated at the pole location is in the client's scope.
  • Auxiliary Energy Storage: An internal enclosure compartment accommodates up to 2 batteries (they are not included) for operational resilience.
  • Optional Alert Hardware: Wiring leads may be routed from the unit to an optional external siren if audible over-speed alert integration is specified.

Data Cabling, Station Readiness, and Scope Boundary

System communication supports local configuration via Mini B-type USB, direct Ethernet LAN networking, or optional GSM cellular modem links. Site commissioning requires adherence to the defined responsibility demarcation:

Direct log retrieval via direct LAN connection is supported free of cost. Where centralised tracking or live traffic graphing is deployed, network interfaces must be routed either locally to the client's main gate PC or via the GSM modem to the Indus Cloud platform.
