FAQ

What material and construction features differentiate the 3M 6200 from standard disposable masks?

Answer:
The 3M 6200 is manufactured from a durable grey Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE) that allows the facepiece to be fully disassembled, sanitized, and reused across multiple shifts.

Unlike single-use disposable particulate masks, the 3M 6200 is an industrial reusable half-mask built with a primary body of flexible Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE) in standard grey. Key construction differentiators include:

  • Elastomeric Face Seal: TPE construction molds to facial contours to create a secure, airtight seal against particulates, gases, and vapors when properly fitted.
  • Maintainability & Reuse: The assembly can be entirely disassembled, washed with warm soapy water (or neutral cleaning agent below 50°C), sanitized, and fitted with fresh filters or replacement parts.
  • Low-Profile Visual Clearance: The swept-back twin-filter design keeps respiratory cartridges out of the worker's line of sight and prevents interference with protective eyewear, safety spectacles, and welding shields.
