Installation, Electrical Integration and Commissioning Guide for KTI 300 mm 2-in-1 Traffic Light

Mechanical Placement and Mounting Guidelines

The KTI 300 MM Dia 2-in-1 Traffic Light (SKU: KTI16022900TTRG) is engineered for vehicle movement control across industrial facilities, corporate access gates, toll plazas, parking management facilities, and multi-level parking ramps. Weighing 3 kg, the unit features a durable molded polycarbonate housing body engineered for extreme environmental conditions, complemented by a protective High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) front hood.

When positioning the signal head at overhead lane structures, boom barrier posts, or perimeter access gantries, ensure the 300 mm diameter UV-stabilized, water-clear polycarbonate lens faces oncoming vehicular traffic with an unobstructed line of sight. Position the integrated HDPE sun visor facing upward to minimize solar glare and prevent optical washout across the ultra-bright LED array.

Electrical Wiring & 230V AC Integration

The signal unit operates on a standard 230V AC power supply and incorporates dual optical indications—a Red Cross and a Green Upside Arrow—within a single optical aspect. Wiring must be routed through appropriate weather-sealed entry glands directly to the internal terminal interfaces.

Integration with automated access control and lane management systems is achieved by connecting the 230V AC switched lines to external relay triggers:

  • Red Cross Indication: Connect the switched 230V AC line controlled by the boom barrier closed-limit switch, access gate interlock, or PLC relay output signaling a closed or impassable lane.
  • Green Upside Arrow Indication: Connect the corresponding switched 230V AC line triggered upon barrier opening, authorization validation, or lane clearance from the traffic management controller.
  • Neutral and Earth: Ensure a continuous neutral reference and equipment ground connection to maintain stable LED driver operation and personnel safety.

Pre-Commissioning Checks & Troubleshooting

Prior to operational deployment, verify all line connections to avoid common commissioning faults:

  • Dual Illumination or Non-Illumination: Confirm that the 230V AC switched relay outputs are not active simultaneously. Miswiring or floating relay lines can cause both the Red Cross and Green Arrow to illuminate concurrently or fail to trigger.
  • Terminal Security: Verify that all internal terminal screws are tightened and that cable strain relief is secured to protect against vibration-induced loosening.
  • Optical Inspection: Inspect the UV-stabilized water-clear polycarbonate lens and HDPE hood for dust, packaging debris, or physical obstruction before powering on the ultra-bright LEDs.

Post-Installation Maintenance Practices

To preserve optical clarity and signaling visibility, periodically inspect the polycarbonate enclosure seals and wipe the water-clear lens surface using a soft, non-abrasive damp cloth to clear industrial dust, soot, and road grime. Routine terminal checks during site maintenance ensure dependable 230V AC operation.
