Site Preparation and Installation Guidelines for ZKTeco ZKX6550

System Delivery and Physical Rigging Dimensions

Proper logistical planning is critical when receiving and positioning the ZKTeco ZKX6550 dual-energy X-ray baggage inspection system (KT internal reference KTI04023T6550A, HSN code 90221420). The equipment is delivered in two separate heavy modular components requiring appropriate material handling equipment, such as industrial forklifts and heavy-duty pallet jacks, capable of navigating standard loading docks and facility double doors.

Facility access routes, corridors, service elevators, and checkpoint doorways must be checked against the packaged crating dimensions before offloading:

  • Main Scanner Package Dimensions: 2200 mm (Length) × 1135 mm (Width) × 1515 mm (Height).
  • Operator Console Desk Dimensions: 830 mm (Length) × 800 mm (Width) × 1330 mm (Height).
  • Main Scanner Package Weight: 680 kg.
  • Console Desk Weight: 105 kg.
  • Combined Handling Weight: 785 kg total shipping mass.

Structural Floor Loading and Spatial Clearance

The checkpoint installation site must feature a level, vibration-free reinforced concrete floor engineered to support the static load of 680 kg for the scanner unit and 105 kg for the operator console desk. In addition, the floor must support dynamic loads including queued passenger luggage up to the conveyor maximum rated capacity of ≤180 kg (adequately distributed across the belt).

The system features a conveyor transmission belt height of 1300 mm from floor level and an internal inspection aperture measuring 660 mm in width by 510 mm in height. Adequate clearance must be maintained at both the entrance and exit ends of the 0.20 m/s conveyor line to accommodate baggage handling, parcel transfer, and secondary manual inspection tables.

Electrical Integration and Environmental Parameters

The ZKTeco ZKX6550 requires a stable, dedicated commercial AC power feed. System power consumption is rated at 1 kVA. Connecting the inspection unit to clean, regulated utility power prevents electrical noise from affecting sensitive dual-energy detection electronics and the 150 kV tube generator.

Operator Console Setup and Commissioning

The separate operator console desk (830 mm × 800 mm × 1330 mm) should be positioned adjacent to the main scanning tunnel to give the security screener an unobstructed line of sight to incoming baggage while monitoring the 22-inch LED display. Low acoustic noise emissions of 53.8 dB(A) allow prolonged console operation in indoor security checkpoints.

Initial commissioning involves powering on the 100% sealed oil-cooled 150 kV X-ray generator, verifying the conveyor operation at 0.20 m/s, and testing onboard diagnostic features. Technicians must verify software utilities including Threat Image Projection (TIP), luggage counter logging, system running timer, X-ray emitting timer, operator training mode, high-density alarm, and explosive/drug auxiliary detection before entering live screening service.
